Devices and methods are provided for using an identity-aware proxy to filter transmissions for virtual networks. The device may receive an encrypted application programming interface (API) call from a second device, wherein the encrypted API call is associated with a remote network resource, and wherein the device is included in a remote network which includes the remote network resource. The device may determine, based on the encrypted API call, an account associated with the remote network resource. The device may determine that the account is not authorized to access the remote network resource using the remote network. The device may send an error notification to the second device.

Identity-aware filtering proxy for virtual networks

Techniques for managing access to infrastructure components hosted in a cloud computing environment are provided. One technique includes receiving a request from a user to access a single infrastructure component of multiple infrastructure components hosted in the cloud computing environment. At least one of a current operating state of the cloud computing environment and a context of the user is determined in response to the request. A determination is made to grant the user access to the single infrastructure component, based on an analysis of at least one of the current operating state and the context of the user. In response to the determination, a credential is retrieved that is specific to the single infrastructure component and is valid for a temporary amount of time. The credential is provided to the user.

Managing non-persistent privileged and non-privileged operator access to infrastructure systems hosted in a cloud computing environment

A distributed system hosts a plurality of programming interfaces managed according to a hierarchy of security policies. In response to receiving a request from a client to invoke one of the programming interfaces, the system determines whether the client is authorized to call the programming interface by mapping from an attribute of the client to a location in the hierarchy. The system calls the interface in response to determining that the client is authorized to call programming interfaces associated with the location. The programming interface implements the security policy that corresponds to the location.
