A drain insert is described that provides a valve that prevents backflow of objects and materials through the drain inlet and which has an internal wall with a convex curvature. This convex curvature, which can be elliptical, provides improved fluid flow rates relative to straight walled, cylindrical configurations, permitting small diameter drains to utilize the drain insert while meeting IAPMO flow rate requirements.

Devices and methods for optimizing flow through drains

A treatment device for a drain is presented to reduce at least one of odor, insect, uric acid, and grease and oil problems. The treatment comprises a dispenser that is configured to couple a stem from a drain extending into a drain pipe. At least a portion of the dispenser is composed of the active agent and thereby dispenses the active agent. The active agent includes at least one of an insecticide, a deodorant, uric acid-consuming bacteria, and an enzyme that digests grease and oil. Thus, problems associated with drains are substantially reduced using the treatment device.

Treatment devices for drains

Sliding skirt valves for waterless urinals and method of controlling fluid flow through the sliding skirt valve are presented. The sliding skirt valve has a valve body, which includes an inlet, an outlet and a sealing surface. The sliding skirt valve also has a central shaft with an upper stop and a lower stop and a barrier interface. Between the upper and the lower stops, a conical barrier is slidingly engaged with the barrier interface. In a normal pressure state, the conical barrier lies against the lower stop of the central shaft. In a back pressure state, the conical barrier moves upwardly to lie against the upper stop of the central shaft and block the vent to upward fluid flow from the downstream of the sliding skirt valve.

A thermal interface device () includes a base member () and a pocket () which is filled with a thermally conductive material or medium such as diamond dust suspended in a solvent such as propylene glycol or a thermally conductive material such as thermally conductive rubber. The pocket () is hermitically sealed to the base member () in order to keep the thermally conductive material within the pocket. The filled pocket () forms a deformable 'pillow' having a high thermal conductance. The deformable pocket () can contour to the shape of a device it is pressed against such as an electronic device undergoing testing.

Thermal interface device

A thermal system () includes a main pump () which pumps refrigerant to a device under test evaporator cluster (). A system condenser () converts the gaseous refrigerant into liquid and the condenser liquid return is provided to a vapor/liquid separation and storage column (). The thermal system () further includes a sump vaporizer () which forms part of a sump discharge line loop.

An evaporator () provides a compact design in which thermal energy can be removed from a DUT () in an efficient manner. The evaporator () can include a cover () which includes both input and output apertures for providing refrigerant into and out of the evaporator (). An orifice plate () is located between the cover () and a heat exchanger (). The heat exchanger () includes a plurality of pillars which help increase the surface area of the heat exchanger (). The orifice plate () includes an aperture () which forms a nozzle which sprays refrigerant onto the heat exchanger in order to remove the heat away from the heat exchanger ().
