A milling cutter and guide piece, the milling cutter including an elongate shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and a distal end portion having a milling part including at least one circumferentially disposed cutting edge for removing bone tissue, the guide piece having a fixation element, for releasably fixing the guide piece to a support structure, and a longitudinal axis, wherein one of the guide piece and the distal end of the milling cutter includes a head having a central axis coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the one of the guide piece and the distal end of the milling cutter, and the other of the guide piece and distal end of the milling cutter includes a inner cavity extending along a central axis coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the other of the guide piece and the distal end of the milling cutter.

A holding device for retaining and transporting a dental implant, particularly a dental implant stored in an ampule having preserving fluid, is provided. The holding device has a securing section, which has a force transmission element for rotationally securing the dental implant and an attachment element having one or more resilient arms formed integrally with and distally of the force transmission element, for longitudinally retaining the dental implant. The resilient arms do not extend beyond the radial perimeter of the force transmission element. The resilient arms can be transformed between a first operative configuration and a second compressed configuration under forces during operation, to allow a radially enlarged end of the arms to releasably engage an undercut of the dental implant.

Holding device for dental implant

A housing () for an implant (), a holding piece () to connect the implant () to the housing (), and an insertion tool () for inserting the implant () into an implant site. The holding piece () includes at least one resilient element () for detachably connecting to the implant () with a first retentive force and a tool retention means to connect to the insertion tool () with a second retentive force which is greater than the first retentive force. In between the two ends the holding piece () features a housing connection segment () for connecting the holding piece () to the housing (). On a distal end the insertion tool () comprises torque transmission means, which transmit torque directly to the holding piece () and/or to the implant ().
