The invention relates to a heat exchanger mounting bracket which has a first member with a retaining channel and a second member with a retaining lug. The retaining channel of the first member retains the retaining lug of the second member at an initial mounting position, with a predetermined retaining force, by way of at least a formation on the first member. The retaining channel and lug are releaseable from one another when a force greater than or equal to the predetermined retaining force is applied between the first and second members. A heat exchanger mounting bracket is also provided where a body member is provided with a longitudinal slot toward one end for locating a portion (P) of a heat exchanger, and a pivotal arrangement toward the other end. The pivotal arrangement and longitudinal slot allow displacement of the portion (P) of the heat exchanger from a fore to an aft position upon application of an impact force.

A combination heat exchanger comprising of a heat exchange core having a plurality tubes, wherein the core having at least one core end; an end tank having two side walls and two end walls, two bulkheads the cavity defining a least a first chamber, a second chamber, and a third chamber, a perimeter edge defined by exterior edges of said side walls, exterior edges of said two end walls, and exterior edges of said two bulkheads; a header plate engaged between said end tank and said core end; and a gasket between said perimeter edge and contact surface of said header plate, wherein the compression ratio of the gasket is varied along the contact surfaces of the perimeter edge and contact surface of the end plate.

Combination heat exchanger having an improved end tank assembly

A heat exchanger assembly includes hollow reinforcing members that define openings for receiving supports therein. An end cap is disposed in each open end of cylindrical header tanks and each of the header tanks includes a tubeless length (X) extending inwardly a predetermined distance from each end cap. An inlet and an outlet are disposed in a tubeless length (X). The ends of the reinforcing members extending over the tubeless lengths (X) of the header tanks which include a slot outside each end cap with a tab extending from each end of reinforcing members and into the adjacent slot. All of the components are brazed together in one operation.

An electrical connector assembly is employed for packaging an electrical component within the connector housing. The connector housing is substantially closed with an opening for receiving a mating connector along a predetermined line of insertion. First and second conductor elements are retained within the housing in spaced apart relationship. Each conductor element defines an electrical contact, which extends substantially parallel to the line of insertion for engaging mating contacts carried by the mating connector. One or more of the conductor elements define a terminal for receiving a lead from an associated electrical component. The lead receiving terminal is accessible through the housing opening. Means are provided for guiding and positioning the electrical component during the insertion process.

Electrical connector and component packaging assembly

A heat exchanger assembly for a vehicle comprising at least one manifold having walls defining a chamber for retaining fluid. A mounting device is secured to the wall of the manifold. The mounting device includes a seat portion adapted to receive a fluid transmission line. The mounting device further includes an opening extending from the seat portion and aligned with an aperture in the manifold for providing a fluid passageway between the manifold and the fluid transmission line. In addition, the mounting device includes at least one indentation formed therein for capturing contaminates and preventing an intrusion of the contaminates into the seat portion.

Heat exchanger assembly

A canister is attached to a header tank and includes an upper inlet and a lower outlet. Before end cap is brazed to close the bottom of canister, a tube of desiccant material is installed into the canister by a standoff. The standoff includes a disk shaped base and narrow central post which is comparable in length to the height of the inlet above the lower end cap. This is followed by inserting a spur of a higher melting temperature into the canister into a position and extending radially from the post and into an interference fit with the interior wall of the canister that is tighter than the interference fit between the base and the canister.

Standoff for desiccant in condenser reservoir of automotive air conditioning system

A condenser that is to be brazed in a radiant energy oven has a significant, localized mass differential which would, without further treatment, create a significant temperature differential across the condenser in the braze oven. This is compensated for, in the method of the invention, by thermally spraying onto the surface of the higher mass portion a rough surface layer of a compatible material that increases the emissivity of that portion sufficiently, relative to the rest of the condenser, to decrease the temperature differential that would otherwise occur.

The bottom of canister (,) is closed by an end cap (,) that is, preferably, welded or brazed in place. Before end cap (,) is attached, a tube of desiccant material (,) is installed and located within canister (,) by a standoff (,) comprised of a tight fitting, notched, disk shaped base (,) and narrow central post (,) which is comparable in length to the height of the inlet (,) above the lower end cap (,). The tight fit allows the tube (,) to be inserted up into the canister (,), well away from the bottom of canister (,) and free of heat damage as the end cap (,) is attached. Later, in operation, the central post (,) keeps the tube (,) located clear of the inlet (,) and outlet (,).
