A state machine management component that executes on an edge device within an industrial facility is capable of discovering state machines defined on industrial controllers and translating the state machine definitions to information models that allow the state machines to be discovered and utilized by remote client applications. The edge-level information models allow the client applications to render or consume the state machine data generated by the controller, graphically render the state machines, submit commands, or set values, to the controller as state machine commands via the edge device. The edge-level system thus allows client applications with no prior knowledge of the control-level state machines to discover, retrieve, and interact with state machines defined on the industrial controllers.

An apparatus for separating aerosols or particles from a gas stream composed of a flow housing through which the gas containing the components to be separated flows, a separator, which is arranged in the flow housing, and a corona electrode, which is provided upstream of the separator in the direction of flow. The corona electrode is located substantially outside the gas flow. An air volume stream from the corona electrode flows into to the gas flow to transport charge carriers generated by the corona electrode into a charging zone in the flow housing.

Apparatus for separating aerosols or particles from gases

A gas particle partitioner (GPP) removes particles from an aerosol with high efficiency and with no or minimum changes to the thermodynamic conditions and chemical composition of the gas phase of the aerosol. A permeable grid electrode surrounds a corona wire and separates an interior corona discharge area from an exterior aerosol charging zone. A particle free fluid washes the corona discharge area to minimize any transport of gas components produced by corona discharge to the aerosol. The charged particles in the aerosol are deflected by an electric field in a fractionator to selectively produce a particle free sample stream, which is then separated by a flow splitter from the aerosol.
