A watch band includes a strap and a clasp mechanism integrated with an end of the strap. The clasp mechanism includes a concave member defining a channel at the end of the strap and a cover plate. The cover plate is configured to move between (i) a first position in which the cover plate covers the channel, and (ii) a second position in which the cover plate is retracted to leave at least part of the channel uncovered by the cover plate.

Clasp mechanisms for wristwatch bands

Disclosed are fluidics devices and assemblies allowing for fluid flow between a plurality of wells. The fluidics devices and assemblies that are provided mimic in vivo tissue environments by allowing for initially segregated tissue cultures that can then be linked through fluid flow to measure integrated tissue response. The fluidics devices and assemblies provide a pumpless system using surface tension, gravity, and channel geometries. By linking human tissue functional systems to better simulate in vivo feedback and response signals between the tissues, the need for testing in animals can be minimized. Further, piston assemblies and related systems are provided for nesting engagement on top of the fluidics device in order to provide a dosing fluid thereto.

In one aspect, the subject matter of the disclosure features a watch band. The watch band includes a strap and a clasp mechanism integrated with an end of the strap. The clasp mechanism includes a concave member defining a channel at the end of the strap and a cover plate. The cover plate is configured to move between (i) a first position in which the cover plate covers the channel, and (ii) a second position in which the cover plate is retracted to leave at least part of the channel uncovered by the cover plate.

A retractable connector device having an inner housing, a cover belt, and two sidewalls. The device may comprise electronic components for electronic devices including computer peripheral devices such as serial bus devices, Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices, or IEEE 1394 devices. The belt surrounds a portion of the inner housing. The belt is for moving the device between at least two positions, a deployed position where the connector extends through a hole in the inner housing to connect to a receiving device, and a stored position where the connector is within the housing, separated and protected from external elements by, at least in part, the belt.

Retractable connector for an electronic device

A shielding arrangement for an electronic component mounted on a circuit board includes a shield formed by a frame sidewall arranged to be oriented upstanding from the circuit board and surrounding the electronic component mounted on the circuit board. A first cover portion substantially closes the surrounding sidewall, enclosing the electronic component on the circuit board. A conductive layer, formed by vacuum deposition covers an inside surface of the surrounding sidewall and an inside surface of the first cover portion, continuously. As an alternative to the conductive layer, the frame can be composed of an electrically conductive plastic. The first cover portion can be a stamped metal plate integrated with the frame by overmolding.

Shielding arrangement for electronic device

A shielding apparatus for a portion of a printed circuit board is provided comprising a cover for shielding a selected portion of the printed circuit board. The cover includes an edge, wherein a sidewall is molded about the edge of the cover. The sidewall includes a first and second ledge for supporting the edge of the cover. The shielding apparatus is further shown to include an inner wall extending from a first portion of the sidewall to a second portion of the sidewall for defining discrete areas of the printed circuit board being shielded. In this arrangement, the cover may define apertures in the cover along the abutment with the inner wall to improve flow during the insert molding process and provide a mechanical bond between the cover and the inner wall.

Apparatus and method for shielding printed circuit boards

A die apparatus for assembling a part carried by a part strip onto a carrier strip is disclosed. The die apparatus includes a die housing defining an assembly station, with a portion of the die housing including a punch generally aligned with the assembly station. A part strip conveyor is provided and is adapted to convey the part strip to a position adjacent the assembly station, while a carrier strip conveyor is also provided and is adapted to convey the carrier strip to a position aligned with the assembly station. Accordingly, upon operation of the punch a part is separated from the part strip and inserted into a part receiving aperture of the carrier strip during a single punch stroke.

Apparatus for assembling parts in a carrier strip

A part carrier strip in combination with a part for insertion therein. A flexible planar part carrier strip includes a plurality of part-receiving apertures define by a plurality of side edges. Each of the aperture side edges includes an inwardly projecting and resiliently deflectable tab. Each part is adapted for securement in a corresponding one of the apertures and includes a closed top side, an open bottom side having a peripheral flange, and a plurality of interconnecting sidewalls. Each sidewall is disposed adjacent a corresponding one of the aperture side edges, and each sidewall further includes an outwardly projecting retaining member spaced upwardly from the peripheral sidewall. The retaining members and the sidewall define therebetween a capture area adapted to receive therewithin an adjacent one of the side edge tabs to thereby retain each part on the strip.

Part carrier strip

A part carrier device for receiving and transporting component parts includes a flexible member capable of being flattened into a planar strip and having a plurality of part receiving areas. Each of the part receiving areas is defined or bounded by a plurality of part positioning tabs. Each of the part positioning tabs is positioned to abut an edge of a pre-formed part placed adjacent the part receiving area. Each of the part receiving areas is further being bounded on at least two opposing sides by a row of resiliently deflectable part retaining latches which releasably engaging the part. At least one of the latches in each row is positioned to overlie the surface of the part, while at least one of the latches in each row is positioned to underlie the surface of the part.

A parts carrier strip includes a wall portion defining an aperture wherein the wall portion includes a tab portion which is deflectable to permit the tab portion to be placed in a recess in a part to be carried by the strip. Also disclosed is an apparatus for assembling parts in such a strip.

A supply feedstock intended for use in a workpiece finishing machine wherein individual workpieces are successively separated and presented in a predetermined fashion to an automated loading means. The feedstock includes a plurality of individual workpieces arranged in side-by-side order in the form of a continuous belt, or bandolier, of workpieces, each of the workpieces being interconnected at head and tail portions of the workpieces by integral webs, successive workpieces being trimmed from the bandolier and presented to a loading means, while the separated webs are discharged to waste.

Supply feedstock for workpiece finishing machine

A workpiece finishing machine feeds a plurality of interconnected workpieces, in the form of a feedstock bandolier, to a cutting cylinder wherein individual workpieces are separated from the bandolier by a cutting punch. The separated workpiece is subsequently moved into engagement with a reciprocating presentation carriage which removes the workpiece from the cutting cylinder and presents it in a predetermined position to a robotic loader or assembly device. The machine includes a plurality of sensors which detect various aspects of the feedstock and workpiece.
