Method for preparing basic dithienyl compounds

The compound 7-chloro-2-methyl-3,3a-dihydro-2H,9H-isoxazolo(3,2-b)(1,3)-benzoxazin-9-on e is produced by reacting a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and crotonaldehyde with 5-chlorosalicylhydroxamic acid. The compound has demonstrated utility as a uricosuric agent.

Chemical process for preparation of

A process for the production of 2-methyl-2-sec. butyl-1,3-propanediol from crotyl alcohol is disclosed. The diol obtained is useful in the manufacture of 2-methyl-2-(1-methylpropyl)-1,3-propanediol dicarbamate a valuable antihypertensive agent.
