A clad article of a substrate of one powdered metal that is clad with a second dissimilar powdered metal. A separation layer may be provided between the substrate and the clad layer to separate these layers during consolidation and to facilitate bonding thereof. The consolidation operation may be performed by hot isostatic pressing of the powders within a deformable container.

Clad power metallurgy article and method for producing the same

A method and apparatus for loading tool steel and high speed steel powder to a deformable mold for compacting is disclosed. The particles are exposed to a uniform vacuum during transfer from a sealed container through a sealed conduit and into a sealed deformable mold. By this method and apparatus, the particles are uniform throughout the container and substantially free of impurities, without requiring conventional outgassing.

An age-hardenable, corrosion-resistant, nickel-base fully dense article of compacted prealloyed particles. The article has a fine, uniformly distributed gamma-prime phase for strength and hardness. The alloy consists essentially of, in weight percent, carbon 0.05 max, chromium 15 to 25, molybdenum 6.5 to 10, columbuium 4 to 6.5, iron 9 max, aluminum 0.2 to 0.8, nitrogen 0.05 max, titanium, 0.6 max, and balance nickel. The alloy article has an absence of interstitial phases at prior particle boundaries and may be age-hardened to a minimum room-temperature 0.2% offset yield strength of 120,000 psi.

An automated, self-contained apparatus for extracting meat from the appendages of crustaceans, such as crabs, the appendages having been severed from the body and cooked. The device includes a plurality of stations which recover and collect the meat in the appendages as well as dispose of the empty shell. The appendages are placed in radially extending recesses of a circular motor driven platter, the platter being used to transport the appendages from station to station. The appendages pass through a cutting station which removes the end of each appendage so that there is an opening large enough to allow the meat to be expelled and recovered when pressurized air is injected into the appendage at the next station, the meat extracting station. Pressurized air is also utilized at the third station, the shell ejectment station, to remove the empty shells from the platter.

A combination key operated vehicle door lock and burglar alarm switch having a cylinder lock which is mounted on the vehicle door and operated by a prescribed key. A semi-circular shaft axially extends from the cylinder lock and supports a latching device which is utilized for controlling the opening and closing of the door, as well as a switch device which is utilized for completing the electrical circuit of the burglar alarm system. The single key is utilized to both operate the opening of the door as well as the arming of the burglar alarm.
