A mounting assembly couples a current limiting fuse to an element that defines a longitudinal axis. The mounting assembly includes a mounting member on the element; a first attachment member coupled to the mounting member in a fixed position relative to the mounting member; and a second attachment member coupleable to the current limiting fuse. The first and second attachment members are configured to be attached to one another in a plurality of discreet positions about an axis that is non-parallel to the longitudinal axis.

Current limiting fuse

A housing for a current limiting fuse that includes a metal fuse element and a non-conductive filler material. The fuse element is configured to melt to create an open circuit when an applied current exceeds a threshold amount. The housing includes first and second cylindrical members. The first cylindrical member has an open end portion and the second cylindrical member has an integrally formed closed end portion and an open end portion configured to be attached to the open end portion of the first cylindrical member to close the housing. The housing also includes a fastening member configured to prevent the open end portion of the first cylindrical member from separating from the open end portion of the second cylindrical member when the fuse element melts.

A connector system includes a member having a surface with an opening in the surface and an open end defined by one or more walls, where the walls include a first end attached to the surface and a second end having a notch. The connector system further includes a contact element defined by a passage in an axial direction and an opening that is perpendicular to the passage, where the contact element is sized to fit within the open end of the member such that the notch in the second end of the walls aligns with the passage in the contact element. The connector system also includes a probe element connectable to the opening in the surface of the member and the opening of the contact element.

A device electrically interconnects a high voltage cable to a bushing of a deadfront electrical apparatus or switchgear. The device comprises a feed-through bushing and a separate U-member. The U-member can be installed onto, or removed from, the bushings without having to disconnect the ground. A driver mechanism applies a force to the U-member at a location substantially midway between two parallel legs of the U-member for installing or removing the U-member without cocking of the legs. The U-member carries female contacts which are engageable with male contacts of the bushings.

Electrical connecting system

An electrical bushing for connection with an electrical apparatus is disclosed. The electrical bushing includes a bushing well which defines an internal cavity, and an electrical conductor having a first end for electrical connection with the electrical apparatus and having a second end extending within the internal cavity. A replaceable stud is electrically connected to the second end of the electrical conductor, and the bushing well further includes a guide flange. The guide flange extends within the internal cavity around the second end of the electrical conductor such that it is spaced from the second end, and guides the stud into connection with the second end of the electrical conductor.

Electrical bushing

A switch apparatus including a main housing, a fixed contact supported by the main housing, a shaft supported by the main housing for pivotal movement relative thereto, a movable contact supported by the shaft for common movement therewith, and a motor assembly for moving the shaft relative to the main housing between a closed position wherein the movable contact engages the fixed contact and an open position wherein the movable contact is spaced from the fixed contact. The shaft consists of two opposite halves mating along a longitudinally extending plane. The fixed contact may consist of two opposed spring-biased contact portions mounted in the housing.

An under oil expulsion fuse cartridge assembly includes a tubular housing of non-electrical conductive material, an electrically conductive contact removably threadedly mounted on each end of the housing, and a replaceable fuse assembly removably received within the tubular housing. One of the end contacts incorporates a pressure chamber providing a flushing and cleaning operation during the interruption process. The fuse assembly includes a fuse liner tube in a fuse link therein in the form of a flat ribbon element electrially connected to each of the end contacts. One end of the fuse link is mounted on a thin disc which includes a plurality of projecting lands that prevent direct engagement of the fuse link with the end contact to avoid breaking the fuse link. The fuse link also includes a plurality of holes formed therethrough covered by a eutectic material having a desired melting temperature so that current interruption occurs at a predetermined operating temperature.

Under oil expulsion fuse cartridge assembly

A modular under oil expulsion fuse cartridge assembly includes a tubular housing of non-electrical conductive material, an electrically conductive contact removably threadedly mounted on each end of the housing, and a replaceable fuse assembly removably slidably received within the tubular housing. The fuse assembly includes a fuse support tube and a fuse link supported within the tube electrically connected to each of the end contacts. The end contacts are designed with ramps or tapered ends to prevent arcing along the insulating surface of the fuse housing, and are located on the outside housing surface of the device away from the operating or arcing region of the assembly to provide a maximum strike distance between the end contacts. At least one of the electrical connections of the fuse link includes a plurality of deformable fingers movable between a first position which permits the fuse assembly to be slidably received within the housing, and a second position in which the fingers are spread outwardly by a clamping nut into engagement with an end contact.

Modular under oil expulsion fuse cartridge assembly

A dual voltage under oil transformer switch formed from one or more phase switch units, fuse switch units and/or auxiliary switch units, each switch unit including a standardized molded switch block, shaft and rotor, the switch blocks including a contact deck for supporting a number of contact blades in a common plane, the rotor including a number of bridge contacts each having a number of double-bladed contact fingers for electrically engaging the contact blades, the rotor being mounted for axial movement on the shaft to accommodate variations in the planar position of the bridge contacts, the shafts being adopted for interlocking engagements and an operating handle assembly for positively locating and indicating the position of the switch position of the rotor in its switch block, the operating handle assembly, switch block, rotor and shafting having physical index members to assure proper interconnection of the switch units.

An energy-limited fuse having a number of fuse elements spirally wrapped about a spider formed from a number of insulating plates, the fuse elements being supported in a parallel spaced relation at a distance sufficient for each element to operate independently and a striker pin assembly independently mounted in said fuse after said spider assembly has been mounted in said fuse, said striker pin assembly including a vaporizable wire for holding the striker pin in said striker pin assembly until the fuse elements are vaporized.
