The first server platform has a maximum processing capacity and a capacity fraction of the maximum processing capacity is assignable to the first server application reserving the capacity fraction for processing the first server application. A determination of a required processing capacity for processing at least one of the first server application and the further server application, an analysis of the required processing capacity for an assignment of the capacity fraction to the first server application, and an assignment of the capacity fraction are performed.

The present invention discloses a solution for performing a sharing an ongoing data session between a first user and a group of at least one additional user in a telecommunication system. The basic idea of this invention is to provide a network integration node with a shared streaming session logic, replication logic and group membership management functions of a conference node, like for example the 'Push to-talk over Cellular (PoC)' application. Using this functionality the conference system is to be included into the ongoing streaming session, shall invite additional members and forward the streaming traffic to them as well. This results into a shared streaming service using unicast communication resources.

The invention relates to a method, device and system for management of resource in a communication network having a resource owner (RO) providing the resource and at least one resource user (RU) using the resource. According to the present invention a resource broker is introduced between the resource owner and the at least one resource user. Said broker is arranged to perform a management procedure for deciding whether to perform a allocation, keeping or release of resource. In order to take a decision a resource usage measure (TTL) is used. In accordance with the present invention said measure is updated when user's usage measure (Keep Alive, InterestMsg) informing about the expected usage of the resource by a resource user is obtained. The update is performed by means of a cumulative algorithm taking into account current and past values of the resource usage measure (TTL).

A technique for interconnecting circuit-switched (CS) and packet-switched (PS) domains enables network components () having a PS network access to make use of CS telephony services. A multimedia message is sent from an originator user device to an originator server and further to one or more recipient servers to which recipient user devices as addressed are associated to. The one or more recipient servers execute a multicast delivery for distributing the multimedia message to the recipient user devices and/or an improved reporting of a transmission state of the multimedia message by receiving status messages from the recipient user devices, each status message comprising an indication of an individual transmission state of the multi media message at one of the recipient user devices, aggregating the indications into a report representing the transmission state of the multimedia message, and sending the report to the originator server.

Method for the distribution of a network traffic according to SLA and QoS parameters

The invention relates to a method, network node, router, serving node and system for performing multicast in a point-to-point packet-switched oriented telecommunication network. The basic idea is to introduce pre-configured multicast transmission for parts of a network. This is done by creating pre-configured transport multicast group tunnels between a router and a serving node in order to transport the multicast data. Further the present invention describes the possibility of multiplexing of the multicast data streams on a pre-configured transport multicast group tunnel. In particular the invention is applicable for multicasting in networks, like UMTS with a scarce number of resources, in the IP network between the SGSN and GGSN for example on the Gn interface.

Multicast in point-to-point packet-switched oriented networks

A technique for delivering a multimedia data file, such as an MMS, from an originator having an originator server associated therewith to a recipient having a recipient server associated therewith is provided. The technique comprises establishing a communication path from the originator to the recipient via the originator server and recipient server. The recipient server receives the data file or portions thereof uploaded to the originator server from the originator. Thereafter, the recipient server individually forwards the data file portions received from the originator server without waiting for receipt of the complete data file.

Method for delivering multimedia files

The invention provides a solution for performing multicast for streaming transmission in a telecommunication system. An intermediate node is proposed which is able to connect the functionality of a broadcast/multicast server and of a streaming node. Further the intermediate node is responsible for the establishment of a bearer for multicast transmission. The establishment of a session is done by means of a translation the on-demand single-use signalling into multi-user push signalling. Furthermore an adaptation of the streaming flow for a whole multicast group or for individual subgroups of a multicast group is performed.
