A device for monitoring a distance between a vehicle and object, including distance sensors mounted in the front and/or rear vehicle region(s), an electronic unit connected thereto, and a display device for visually and/or acoustically displaying distances. The electronic unit generating a full warning signal even prior to reaching the predefined minimum limiting value for an ascertained distance at an established first warning distance value which is greater than the minimum limiting value of a first sensor, if a distance, which is smaller than a first limiting value, is ascertained by a direct echo of the first sensor, the first limiting value being greater than the minimum limiting value of the first sensor, and if a distance, which is greater than a second limiting value, is ascertained by a direct echo of the second sensor, the second limiting value being greater than the minimum limiting value of the second sensor.

Device for monitoring a distance between a vehicle and an object

An ultrasonic sensor, including a diaphragm cup, a housing and a decoupling element, the diaphragm cup and housing having a lateral surface, the decoupling element being at least partially made from an elastic material and having a continuous recess bounded by an inner wall of the decoupling element, the diaphragm cup and/or the housing being at least partially situated in the recess. To prevent sound being transmitted through a gap between the diaphragm cup and the decoupling element and/or between the housing and the decoupling element, the inner wall of the decoupling element is tautened by the contraction of elastic material at least around an area of the lateral surface of the diaphragm cup, circumferentially surrounding the diaphragm cup and/or the housing, and/or a lacquer layer applied on the lateral surface of the diaphragm cup, and/or the lateral surface of the housing so that the inner wall in this area rests flush against the lateral surface of the diaphragm cup and/or the lacquer layer applied on the lateral surface of the diaphragm cup and/or the lateral surface of the housing.

Ultrasonic transducer, ultrasonic sensor and method for operating an ultrasonic sensor

A distance-measuring device is used for measuring a distance between a vehicle and an obstacle. In so doing, dimensions of additional parts that are to be mounted on the vehicle and that project into a space between a detecting device for the distance measurement and the obstacle are taken into account.

Distance-measuring device

An arrangement for detecting the presence of an obstacle in the vicinity of an object includes art least one transmitter that emits a pulsed signal from a predetermined location of the object, at least two receivers capable of receiving echoes of such a pulsed signal as reflected from the obstacle each at a different location of the object, and an evaluating device that measures respective time intervals elapsing between the emission of the pulsed signal and the receipt of the respective echo by the associated receiver. The evaluating device furthermore establishes the presence of the obstacle in a first environmental region of the object when either the time interval to a first one of the two locations is smaller than a first threshold or the time interval to a second one of the two locations is smaller than a second threshold, as well as the presence of the obstacle in a second environmental region of the object when the time interval to the first location is smaller than a third threshold exceeding the first threshold and the time interval to the second location is simultaneously greater than a fourth threshold exceeding the second threshold.

Method and an arrangement for detecting an obstacle

The apparatus for measuring a distance to an object with ultrasound includes a number of ultrasonic transducers (1 to 10) arranged in a motor vehicle for propagation of ultrasonic pulses and a controller (13) including a device for controlling the ultrasonic transducers to sequentially propagate ultrasonic pulses from the respective ultrasonic transducers (1 to 10) and a device to simultaneously propagate ultrasonic pulses from each ultrasonic transducer so that the ultrasonic pulses from respective ultrasonic transducers are superimposed on each other when no obstacle is detected during sequentially propagating ultrasonic pulses, or according to a vehicle speed. Reflected ultrasonic pulses from an object near the vehicle are received by at least one of the ultrasonic transducers (1 to 10) after propagation of the ultrasonic pulses. An evaluation device evaluates the reflected ultrasonic pulses from the object and preferably activates warning devices for the driver as needed.
