Apparatus and method for transforming Web resources into safe versions such that malicious code on the resources cannot attack the client viewing the resources. The invention separates the processing of insecure code from the processing of benign code. For Web pages, the benign code is displayed immediately to the client while insecure code is processed on a separate machine. Once insecure code is processed, benign outputs of that code are passed to the client for display. The invention safeguards the client against known and zero day exploits without requiring a catalog of malware/virus signatures, heavyweight code checkers, complete page re-writing or highly restrictive access policies. The invention provides the client with complete malware blocking while retaining most of the original functionality of the Web resource.

Web malware blocking through parallel resource rendering

Apparatus and method for transforming internet resources into safely rendered versions of the same. The invention provides transformative rendering of internet resources to remove malicious code before displaying in a browser or its associated application. Malicious code blockage is accomplished by re-writing all code that is to be transferred to the client browser. Since malicious code is often disguised (or obfuscated), the invention will not attempt to rewrite the entire code set on the page but will still make available the functionality of that code through frequent interaction between the invention's rendering processor and the client browser.

Transformative rendering of internet resources

Apparatus and method to detect corrosion in metal junctions. Corroded metal junctions are usually discovered by visual inspection. The present invention detects corrosion in metal junctions when it is not visually apparent. A corroded metal junction acts as a nonlinear device. It generates harmonics and other nonlinear products (such as intermodulation) of any signals applied to the junction. The presence of relatively high level harmonics and/or intermodulation products indicates directly that corrosion has occurred. To detect corrosion in a metal junction, one couples a fundamental frequency signal (f,) into the junction and tests for harmonics of that frequency, especially the third harmonic. Harmonic frequency signals that are relatively large (i.e., above the harmonics generated by the testing system) indicate the presence of corrosion. Measurements to determine if a metal junction is corroded are performed without disturbing the junction.

Apparatus and method to detect corrosion in metal junctions

Apparatus and method to identify chafing of a conduit, thereby reducing the failure of any system which would be damaged or whose function would be impaired by abrasion of the conduit. Such a system may carry electrical power, fuel, other fluid, hydraulics, pneumatics, optical, or electromagnetic signals. Wear caused by rubbing against external structures is detected by wrapping the conduit with a sensing element, which may be a conductive wire, waveguide, fiber optic cable, or a tube (wound around the conduit or enclosing it) that holds a fluid under pressure. The sensing element is positioned so that chafing on the conduit electrically contacts, breaks, or punctures the sensing element well before the conduit fails. Measuring the end-to-end integrity of the sensing element or performing other tests on it determines whether a chafing object is present, the nature of the chafing object, and where on the conduit the chafing has occurred, thereby indicating that the conduit's integrity will be compromised unless remedial measures are taken.
