A method for detecting whether a slip clutch release event has taken place in a power tool includes determining a first speed of a gear device by a first sensor, determining a second speed of a motor by a second sensor, and determining a current value by a third sensor. The method further includes determining a state of the power tool by using the first and second speeds and the current value, determining a state of the gear device in dependence on the current value by a control device, ascertaining a state of activity of the slip clutch in dependence on the first and second speeds by the control device, and ascertaining by the control device by a combination of the state of the gear device and the state of activity of the slip clutch whether the slip clutch release event has taken place.

Method for detecting a slip clutch release event, and power tool

A power tool for chiseling and drilling includes a housing, a motor disposed inside the housing, and a pneumatic percussion mechanism. An operation mode selector switch is disposed on the housing and has a first operation mode setting and a second operation mode setting where the first operation mode setting activates the pneumatic percussion mechanism and the second operation mode setting deactivates the pneumatic percussion mechanism. A valve has an inlet-port formed inside the guiding tube and an outlet-port formed outside the guiding tube where the valve is connected to the operation mode selector switch. The valve is closed in the first operation mode setting which disables an air exchange between the inlet-port and the outlet-port and the valve is open in the second operation mode setting which enables the air exchange between the inlet-port and the outlet-port.

A brush holder () has a support element () to which a carbon cartridge () is attached, with a carbon brush () being held therein so as to be displaceable, and to which an electrical fixed contact () is attached which is electrically connected to the carbon brush () by a cord (). A connection element () is provided between the cord () and the fixed contact (). The connection element () has crimping means () at a first end which defines a crimping receptacle () in which the cord () is secured, and plug-in means () at a second end, which plug-in means () can be connected to complimentary plug-in means () of the fixed contact (). The motor () runs on a pre-determined and higher idle speed (n) for cooling purposes after a specific idle time (&#x394;T). while the motor () runs on the pre-determined operating idle speed (n). The engine speed is immediately set to the operating speed (n) once again, when the motor requires a moment of strain at a certain period of time (T) to maintain simple and comfortable operating procedures.
