A wellbore fluid that includes an aqueous based fluid; an amphoteric, viscoelastic surfactant; and a modified starch is disclosed. Methods of drilling subterranean wells, methods of reducing the loss of fluid out of subterranean wells, and methods of completing wellbores using aqueous-based fluids having an ampoteric, viscoelastic surfactant and a modified starch are also disclosed.

Viscoelastic surfactant based wellbore fluids and methods of use

A method of reclaiming a formate brine may include increasing the pH of a spent formate brine fluid comprising water-soluble polymers; treating the fluid with an oxidizing agent; and removing at least a portion of suspended solids from the fluid. Further, a method of reclaiming a formate brine may include lowering the pH of the spent formate brine fluid comprising water-soluble polymers; increasing the pH of the spent formate brine fluid to initiate precipitation of materials solubilized in the fluid; treating the fluid with an oxidizing agent to break down remaining water-soluble polymer; and recovering at least a portion of the formate brine.

Reclamation of formate brines

A method of controlling and delaying the inversion of a drilling fluid and the wettability of a filtercake by using a delayed phase changing agent. The filtercake is preferably formed while drilling a subterranean formation using a drilling fluid includes: an oleaginous fluid; a non-oleaginous fluid; an amine surfactant having the structure: wherein R is a C&#x2013;Caliphatic hydrocarbon; R' is an independently selectable from hydrogen or Cto Calkyl; A is NH or O, and 1&#x2266;x+y&#x2266;3. In the method, the filter cake is exposed to a delayed phase changing agent selected from the group consisting of aliphatic amine acids, salts of aliphatic amine acids and combinations thereof. In one preferred illustrative embodiment, the delayed phase changing agent is delivered in the form of a pill, the pill including a carrier fluid, a viscosifier and the delayed phase changing agent. The delayed phase changing agent may be selected from ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, alkali metal salts of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid and combinations of these and similar compounds.

Delayed phase changing agent for invert emulsion drilling fluid

A drilling system fluid and method of using same. The drilling system fluid comprises water as a continuous phase, an amount of a multivalent metal, and a quantity of a water soluble polyacrylamide copolymer having a charge density of at least about 1%. In a preferred embodiment, the fluid also comprises a second amount of a monovalent salt effective to increase gas hydrate suppression and decrease density when compared to a fluid consisting essentially of only a divalent salt in the absence of the monovalent salt.

Water based fluids comprising multivalent salts and low molecular weight, low charge cationic polyacrylamide copolymers

A drilling fluid and method of using same. The drilling fluid comprises water as a continuous phase, an amount of calcium chloride, and a quantity of a polyacrylamide copolymer. The amount of calcium chloride and the quantity of polyacrylamide copolymer in the drilling fluid are sufficient to produce a rate of penetration approaching that achieved using a synthetic oil-based drilling fluid while preventing substantial screen blinding. In a preferred embodiment, the continuous phase also comprises a second amount of a monovalent salt effective to increase gas hydrate suppression and decrease density when compared to a fluid consisting essentially of only a divalent salt in the absence of the monovalent salt.

Shale stabilizing drilling fluids comprising calcium chloride and low molecular weight low charge cationicpolyacrylamide copolymers

A collapsible cart for carrying one or more golf bags while playing golf including a pair of large diameter wheels having an inflated pneumatic tire on each wheel and a foldable, lightweight, rigid frame of unique construction for positioning in a compact condition with folding of the frame between collapsed and extended positions enabling attachment and detachment of the independent wheels. The cart includes a unique U-shaped handle to facilitate movement of the cart by either pushing the cart or pulling the cart in the nature of a rickshaw. The handle is also pivotal for movement to a compact position alongside the frame. A pivotal bar is mounted on the frame to support the bottom portion of one or two golf bags and a tie cord is provided on the upper portion of the frame to retain the upper end portion of the bag or bags on the frame. Detachment of the frame from the wheels enables storage of the cart in relatively small spaces.
