Medical instrument

A medical instrument for diagnostic, therapeutic, or surgical measures in a cavity in the body of a patient may include a proximal region, which is provided and designed for arrangement outside the body, a distal region, which is provided and designed for arrangement inside a cavity in the body, a supply structure for delivering a fluid to the cavity, wherein the supply structure reaches from a first coupling in the proximal region of the medical instrument to an outlet in the distal region, and a discharge structure for discharging a fluid from the cavity, wherein the discharge structure reaches from an inlet in the distal region of the medical instrument to a second coupling in the proximal region of the medical instrument. The flow resistance of the supply structure is greater than the flow resistance of the discharge structure.

The disclosure relates to a medical instrument for minimally invasive tissue ablation by means of an HF electrode, with a hollow shaft, wherein the HF electrode is electrically insulated from the hollow shaft, is arranged at a distal end of the latter and, in order to ablate tissue, protrudes axially beyond the hollow shaft at least in part. The angle orientation of the HF electrode relative to the hollow shaft is adjustable in a controlled manner to a working position in which the HF electrode, protrudes radially beyond an outer circumference of the hollow shaft in order to ablate tissue. In the working position, by means of suitable adjustment of the shaft and of the HF electrode, a position can always be found in which the distal end of the HF electrode sufficiently reaches or touches tissue portions that are to be ablated in the region of the bladder neck.

An access system for endoscopic operations includes of a trocar, a cover that is fittable on the trocar and at least one spreading element having a retaining portion and an effector portion, wherein the access system has, between the trocar and the cover in the fitted state, a receiving region for the retaining portion of the at least one spreading element. A surgical instrument comprises a shaft, wherein a deflectable articulation section is formed at the shaft, a proximal handling portion at a proximal end of the shaft, a distal effector at a distal end of the shaft, and a deflection mechanism for controlling a bending state of the articulation section. The deflection mechanism comprises a first pull element for a deflection movement and a second pull element for a return movement. The first pull element and the second pull element are jointly pretensioned during the movement of the articulation section. An interface is provided where the instrument is demountable into a distal shaft assembly and a proximal handle piece, wherein the effector is controlled via an actuation mechanism that passes through the interface in a mounted state. The actuation mechanism comprises a push piece having a distal end that is coupled with the effector and a proximal end that is actuable by a pushing movement.

Bipolar medical instrument for cutting tissue under the action of high-frequency current, wherein the instrument extends along a longitudinal direction from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein an active electrode and a neutral electrode, adjacent to the active electrode, are arranged at the distal end, and wherein the neutral electrode has a curved profile with a first curvature and a second curvature, wherein the respective directions of the curvatures are different. An electrosurgical system is also disclosed, with a high-frequency generator, and with one such bipolar medical instrument, which can be attached to the high-frequency generator.

A coupling for a medical instrument for connecting two lines, with a first coupling part, and with a second coupling part which can be inserted into the first coupling part in the longitudinal direction of the coupling parts. The coupling comprises first locking elements arranged on the first coupling part and second locking elements arranged on the second coupling part, the first locking elements being movable between a locking position, in which they engage with the second locking elements, and an unlocking position, in which they disengage from the second locking elements. The coupling further comprises retaining elements which are arranged on the first coupling part and which are movable between a retention position, in which they keep the first and second locking elements in engagement with each other, and a release position, in which the first and second locking elements can be disengaged. It is proposed that the first coupling part comprises a slide which is movable in the longitudinal direction thereof and which, upon insertion of the second coupling part into the first coupling part, is moved from an advanced position to a recessed position, that the slide is biased into the advanced position, and that sealing elements are arranged on an end of the second coupling part directed towards the first coupling part which in a state in which the first coupling part is connected to the second coupling part, seal off an interior of the coupling with respect to a fluid.
