A method for mounting a shaft in a bearing track of an internal combustion engine, at least one sealing ring is mounted on the shaft such that the at least one sealing ring is widened and is pushed onto a region of the shaft, and at least one circumferential groove is formed on an external diameter of the shaft so that the sealing ring is arranged in the groove. The method may include positioning a calibrating tool having at least two clamping jaws over the at least one sealing ring, displacing the clamping jaws radial inward such that the at least one sealing ring is pushed onto the shaft in the region of the groove, and pressing the at least one sealing ring into the respective groove and force-fitting and form-fitting holding of the sealing ring in the groove.

A combined plug-sensor wheel for a camshaft is disclosed. The combined plug-sensor wheel includes a pin projecting in an axial direction of the camshaft. The pin, when inserted into the camshaft, seals the camshaft in a fluid-tight manner. A bearing frame or cylinder head cover of an internal combustion engine may include at least one camshaft mounted therein. The camshaft may be tunnel-mounted in at least two bearing openings arranged along a bearing channel. At least two radial bearings may be arranged on the camshaft, each of the radial bearings having an outer bearing shell. The outer bearing shells of the at least two radial bearings may include different outer diameters, each of the respective outer diameters adapted to be complementary to an inner diameter of the associated bearing opening. The inner diameters of the bearing openings may decrease in a direction of assembly of the camshaft along the bearing channel.
