A dry transformer to be mounted on or under or in a vessel or means of transportation, in particular a rail car or power car of a train or a ship, includes at least one core and at least one winding. The winding surrounds the core and the core and the winding are parts of a coil. The coil and/or the core and/or the winding are mechanically connected to an outer support structure by at least one strut. The transformer is able to master the required typical dynamic loads in at least one direction in transportation applications, such as railway applications.

Dry transformer

A transformer for use in a rail vehicle and/or for rail applications, including a core which is at least partially surrounded by at least one coil is, with regard to the objective of providing a transformer in which the geometry of a coil can be selected to be as variable as possible, characterized in that the core is produced from individual segments, wherein the total cross-sectional surface-area of the core is greater than or equal to the sum of the individual cross-sectional surface-areas of the segments and wherein at least two individual cross-sectional surface-areas differ from each other and/or from the total cross-sectional surface-area in terms of their size and/or geometric shape.

Transformer for use in a rail vehicle

A longitudinal voltage regulator includes: a voltage source for generating an additional voltage; and a transformer for coupling the additional voltage into an input voltage. The transformer both generates the additional voltage and couples the additional voltage into the input voltage. In an embodiment, the transformer has an input winding and an output winding.

Longitudinal voltage regulator

According to an embodiment, the invention provides a voltage control system for medium voltage applications. The voltage control system provides a booster-transformer and a feeder-transformer, each of the booster-transformer and the feeder-transformer having a respective primary winding and a secondary winding, wherein the secondary winding of the feeder-transformer is electrically connected with the primary winding of the booster-transformer by an intermediate circuit. The voltage control system also includes a connection device configured to connect the secondary winding of the booster transformer with an electrical energy supply network in order that the secondary winding of the booster transformer is connected in series with a transmission line having a voltage that is to be controlled.

Voltage control system

A transformer and a method of manufacturing a transformer are disclosed. The transformer can include a transformer core with at least three core limbs which are arranged in parallel with respect to one another and perpendicular to corner points of an area spanned by a polygon, and wherein axial end regions of each of the at least three core limbs transition into a respective yoke segment arranged transversely with respect to the axial end regions. Main windings can be arranged around each of the at least three core limbs in a hollow-cylindrical winding region. A magnetic cross section of a respective core limb can be greater than a magnetic cross section of the respective yoke segment. Additional windings can be electrically connected to a respective main winding and can be arranged around each of the respective yoke segments.

Transformer

An exemplary arrangement includes blocks arranged between the inner winding, the individual barriers and the outer winding in order to maintain defined spacing's along the circumference. At least two coils are arranged axially one above the other on a common core limb. Each coil has at least two windings arranged radially one above the other and barriers are provided between the windings. The barriers of adjacent coils are radially offset with respect to one another, and the edge regions of the barriers engage one another in a comb-like manner.

A single- or multi-phase dry-type transformer includes at least two coils. A barrier between phases made of an electrically insulating material is arranged in the intermediate space between the individual coils.

At least two winding modules nested hollow-cylindrically one inside the other and extending around a common winding axis, wherein said winding modules are spaced radially apart from one another within at least one hollow-cylindrical cooling channel arranged therebetween by means of insulation strips, wherein the insulation strips have a cross-sectional form which avoid a surface profile radially with respect to the winding axis, the insulation strips including one of a fiber-reinforced epoxy, polyester resin, or from an unreinforced thermoplastic material.

A transformer winding device, a method and a transformer are disclosed. The transformer winding winding device includes a rotary device configured to extend along an axis of rotation and configured to receive a transformer winding to be wound, at least one device configured to provide a plurality of insulation strips, and a comb-like guide device. The comb-like device is configured to deflect the plurality of insulation strips into at least one common winding plane and fed parallel to one another, at an angle to an axis of rotation, to the transformer winding to be wound. The comb-like guide device can include at least a first guide device element for a first group of insulation strips and a second guide device element for a second group of insulation strips, wherein the first and second guide device elements are offset with respect to one another in terms of axial length.

Winding device, winding method, and transformer winding

A dry-type transformer heater includes a closed housing, and at least one transformer winding arranged in the housing. The at least one transformer winding includes at least one corresponding winding conductor and a corresponding insulation layer surrounding the transformer winding, respectively. In addition to the respective winding conductor, at least one coil heating wire is provided in at least one of the insulation layer and on the surface of the insulation layer to input thermal power into the respective insulation layer.

Dry transformer heater

The disclosure is related to a dry transformer, which includes a transformer core with at least two parallel limbs and upper and lower yokes, and at least two hollow cylindrical coils, each arranged as neighbored coils around a limb of the at least two parallel limbs. A cooling system can include at least one wall-like diaphragm in-between the neighbored coils, which is in parallel to the orientation of the limbs.

Cooling system for dry transformers

A transformer winding, having at least two multi-layered winding modules, which are connected electrically in series, extend about a common winding axis, and are nested one inside the other hollow-cylindrically, at least one cooling channel, which is arranged along the common winding axis hollow-cylindrically between the winding modules, and a flat electrical shield is provided within the at least one cooling channel at least sectionally along the radial circumference thereof, wherein the electrical shield extends over approximately the entire axial length and through which electrical shield the electrical capacitance distribution in the transformer winding connected electrically in series is influenced.

Transformer winding

An exemplary transformer winding including at least two hollow-cylindrical, axially adjacent winding modules, which are arranged about a common winding axis and have an electrical conductor wound in layers, and a common electrical insulting layer, through which the winding modules are enveloped. The insulating layer has at least one annular, radial depression or annular, radial elevation, which is salient transversely to the winding axis on the radial outer face of said insulating layer.

A method is provided for producing windings for a dry-type transformer with in each case one winding for the low voltage (LV winding) and one for the high voltage (HV winding). The LV and HV windings are each electrically insulated from one another and have layers which are electrically insulated from one another by virtue of, initially, the winding for the low voltage being produced from electrically conductive wire or tape material and an insulating layer including resin-impregnated fibre material. Prior to the application of the HV winding, the maximum insulating thickness for the layer insulation and the number of fiber rovings corresponding to this insulating thickness can be determined, and each winding layer and the associated insulating layer can be produced simultaneously with a physical offset with respect to one another. To produce the winding, fiber polymer layers can be applied, as layers of insulation, simultaneously with the winding conductor between the individual winding layers of the winding, and the finished winding is subjected to a curing operation.
