Steering pinions and methods for producing the same are described. The steering pinion has a toothed section for meshing with a gear rack and a connection section for connecting to a steering shaft. The toothed section includes a toothed part and the connection section includes a connection part. The toothed part and the connection part are pressed together in a rotationally fixed manner.

Steering pinion for a steering system and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to a rack-and-pinion steering gear with a steering housing, which is tubular and has a housing axis, wherein in the steering housing a rack is mounted in bearings displaceably towards a longitudinal axis, and with a steering pinion, which is mounted in a pinion housing rotatably about an axis and has a pinion gearing, which engages with a gearing of the rack, in which at least one bearing is formed as an eccentric sliding bearing, which can rotate relative to the steering housing, so that the rack can be pressed towards the steering pinion.

Cost-effective steering mechanism

An electromechanical power steering system with a ball screw drive may include a hollow shaft motor with a stator secured to the housing and a rotatably mounted rotor arranged coaxially with a longitudinal axis of, and which may be drivingly connected to, a hollow shaft. The system may further include a ball screw nut arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis, and which may drive a ball screw spindle via balls. The rotor may drive the ball screw nut via a reduction gear.

A toothed rack or threaded rod, in particular for a steering mechanism for a motor vehicle, includes a first rod-shaped part which, as a function element of the toothed rack or threaded rod, includes at least one element for the conversion of a rotational movement into a translational movement, in particular a toothing and/or a threading for the engagement of a threaded nut or of a threaded drive, and a second rod-shaped part which is connected with the first rod-shaped part. The connection of the first with the second rod-shaped part takes place via a separate connection part which includes first and second connection pins, of which the first connection pin is held by press fit in the hollow volume opening out at the connection end of the first rod-shaped part and the second connection pin is held by press fit in the hollow volume opening out at the connection end of the second rod-shaped part. A section of the connection part located between the first and the second connection pin has at least over a region of its circumference a greater radial dimension than the first and the second rod-shaped part in the corresponding circumferential region.
