The inhalation device for medically active liquids (F) for generation of an aerosol comprises a housing (), a reservoir (), a pumping device with a pumping chamber (), and a nozzle (), wherein the interior volume of the pumping chamber () is changeable by means of linear relative motion of the pumping chamber to the riser pipe (). Said linear relative motion can be effected by a relative rotation of a rotatable part (A) which is part of, or connected to, the housing () with respect to a second part (B) of said housing (), in that said relative rotation can be transferred by means of a gear mechanism into said relative translational motion. A means for the storage of potential energy () is provided which is chargeable by means of said relative rotation, and wherein said energy is releasable to said pumping device when released by activation of a release means. A blocking device is provided which is adapted to block activation of the release means and/or release of the means for the storage of potential energy () during rotation of the rotatable part (A) and/or during loading of the means for the storage of potential energy (). Also, a method for the prevention of undesired emission of medically active liquid or aerosol from an inhalation device is disclosed.

The invention relates to the field of inhalation methods and inhalation devices for liquids. In particular, the invention relates to an inhalation method using an inhalation device adapted to separately eject at least two liquid compositions each having different properties, and to a method for the generation of an aerosol of at least two medicinal formulations by means of such inhalation device.

The invention relates to the field of nozzles for inhalation devices for liquids. In particular, the invention relates to a nebulizing nozzle for an inhalation device, suitable for the generation of an aerosol of a medically active liquid, and to inhalation devices comprising such nozzle. Such nozzle () for an inhalation device for medically active liquids (F, F, F) for generation of an aerosol has a main axis (Z) and at least three ejection channels (A,B,C,D) adapted to eject liquid (F, F, F) along respective ejection trajectories, wherein at least two collision points (X, X) are provided at which at least two of said ejection trajectories intersect with one another, and/or wherein further, all ejection angles (A, A, A) at which the individual trajectories leave the nozzle () are identical, or at least one of said ejection angles (A, A, A) differs from the other ejection angles (A, A, A).

Multiliquid-nozzle

The invention relates to the field of inhalation devices for liquids. In particular, the invention relates to a nebulizing nozzle to be used in such an inhalation device, as well as a method for fabrication of such a nozzle. A nozzle for an inhalation device for nebulizing a liquid into a respirable aerosol has a nozzle body () which has a front end (B) and which comprises at least two ejection channels ('), each channel (′) having an channel exit (A,A′), wherein the ejection channels (′) are arranged such as to eject liquid along respective ejection trajectories which intersect with one another at a collision point. The nozzle is characterized in that at least one recess () is provided at the front end (B) in which the channel exits (A,A′) are positioned. Disclosed is also a method for the fabrication of a nozzle body as defined above, use of such a nozzle in an inhalation device for nebulizing a liquid, and an inhalation device for nebulizing a liquid into a respirable aerosol, comprising such a nozzle.

Spray nozzle for an inhalation device

The invention relates to the field of inhalation devices for liquids. In particular, the invention relates to a fixture for a nebulizing nozzle to be used in such an inhalation device. A nozzle fixing assembly () for an inhalation device, comprising an elastically deformable seal element (), having a continuous opening () capable of receiving a nozzle body (), said seal element () and said nozzle body () each having a high pressure side (A,A) and an outlet side (B,B); and a pressure element () with a high pressure side (A), said side being arranged to face the high pressure side (A) of the seal element (); wherein (i) the high pressure side (A) of the seal element () is substantially flat, and (ii) the high pressure side (A) of the pressure element () is chamfered in a way that, in the assembled state, the distance between these high pressure sides (A,A) is higher in a central region (C) than in a peripheral region (P).

An inhalation device including a housing; a reservoir for storing a liquid; a pumping unit including a riser pipe; a hollow cylindrical part having an interior space and being linearly moveable on the riser pipe, the pumping chamber fluidically connected with the reservoir; a nozzle connected liquid-tight to a downstream end portion of the riser pipe; wherein the linear relative motion can be effected by a relative rotation around a rotational axis of a rotatable part with respect to a counterpart converting the relative rotation into the linear relative motion by a gear mechanism comprising at least one cam surface having a first section and a second section, a spring for the storage of potential energy, wherein the cam surface has, between the first section and the second section, a third section of constant height upon which no linear relative motion occurs while the counterpart slides along it.

In particular, the invention relates to an inhalation device having a nebulizing nozzle, and to a method for the generation of an aerosol of a medically active liquid by means of such inhalation device. An inhalation device comprises a housing (), inside this housing () at least one reservoir () for storing a liquid (F, F, F), at least one pumping unit with at least one pumping chamber (A,B) for generation of a pressure inside said pumping chamber (A,B), at least one riser pipe (A,B) which can be received with at least one reservoir-facing, interior end (A',B′) in said pumping chamber (A,B), and a nozzle () which is connected to an exterior end (A″,B″) of the riser pipe (A,B), wherein the interior volume of the at least one pumping chamber (A,B) is changeable by means of relative motion of the pumping chamber (A,B) to the riser pipe (A,B), and wherein the at least one riser pipe (A,B) is immobile and firmly attached to the housing () or to the nozzle (), and the at least one pumping chamber (A,B) is moveable relative to the housing () or to the nozzle (), wherein further, the nozzle () has a main axis (Z) and at least three ejection channels (A,B,C,D) adapted to eject liquid (F, F, F) along respective ejection trajectories, wherein at least one collision point (X, X, X) is provided at which at least two of said ejection trajectories intersect with one another.

Inhalation device with multiliquid-nozzle and method

The invention relates to the field of inhalation methods and inhalation devices for liquids. The tubular member () comprises at least two mechanically distinct parts (A,B), wherein a first part (A) provides said upstream section, and a second part (B) provides said downstream section, and the first part (A) and the second part (B) are connected to each other such as to form an interface section (C) serving as a valve chamber (B) for the valve ().

A inhalation device for medically active liquids (F) for generation of an aerosol comprises a housing (), inside this housing () a reservoir () for storing a liquid (F), a pumping device with a hollow cylinder () providing a pumping chamber () for the generation of a pressure inside said pumping chamber (), wherein the pumping chamber is fluidically connected with the reservoir () via an inlet check valve () which blocks in direction of the reservoir (), a riser pipe () which can be received with at least one reservoir-facing, interior end (A) in said hollow cylinder (), and a nozzle () which is connected liquid-tight to an exterior end (B) of the riser pipe (), wherein the volume of the pumping chamber () is changeable by means of relative motion of the cylinder () to the riser pipe (), and is characterised in that the riser pipe () is immobile and firmly attached to the housing () and to the nozzle (), whereas the hollow cylinder () is moveable relative to the housing () and to the nozzle (). The invention also discloses a method for the generation of an aerosol of a medically active liquid (F) by means of an inhalation device.
