A conveyor belt includes a plurality of spaced rods and a plurality of slats, the slats including a base portion for carrying an item. The present invention is directed to a conveyor belt link and a sprocket driven conveyor belt comprising the same. In particular, it relates to a conveyor belt link with coupling mechanism that provides a conveyor belt surface that can reduce product marking, minimizes costs, and simplifies manufacturing and assembly of a conveyor belt comprising the same.

A conveyor belt includes a plurality of spaced rods and a plurality of slats. Each of the plurality of slats includes a base portion for carrying an item. The base portion has a perpendicular leading edge of the base portion relative to a direction of conveyance travel of the conveyor belt and a perpendicular trailing edge of the base portion relative to the direction of conveyance travel of the conveyor belt. At least one of the leading edge and the trailing edge is coupled to one of the plurality of rods.

A conveyor oven has several heating zones. Each heating zone is comprised of one or more infrared emitters that are configured to emit a spectrum of infrared wavelengths that varies in intensity and spectrum over time. The spectra of emitted infrared wavelengths in each zone can have the same or different profile. Zones are regions wherein infrared emitters are configured and operated to emit the same or substantially the same infrared energy wavelengths and intensity levels across an IR spectrum. Access to the infrared emitters and the conveyor is provided by one or more access or maintenance ports formed into a side of the conveyor oven. Temperature control inside the oven is effectuated by venting hot air through air vents formed into the oven sides and/or top.

A wire mesh burner plate for use in large, gas burners for large ovens is comprised of spaced-apart wire mesh plates. The spacing between the wire mesh plates defines an air/fuel mixture space. The fuel passes through the lower or first mesh, experiences a pressure drop, mixes with air and passes through a second wire mesh. The gas combusts after passing through the second wire mesh. The fine gauge of the mesh prevents combustion from flowing backwardly into the fuel/air mixture space. Several individual wire mesh burner plates can be flexibly attached to each other such that a very wide space can be covered. Thermal stresses are reduced by being distributed across multiple burners.

Cooking food in a hybrid conveyor with both electric and gas-fired infrared heaters. The heat output from the gas fired infrared heater is controlled by cycling or pulsing the gas supply to one or more burners that emit infrared heat by heating a nichrome screen wire. The electric power supplied to electrically powered heaters is also controlled.
