Razor heads and shaving systems are disclosed which comprise multiple blades and/or multiple skin-engaging elements which are supported to provide those elements with composite motion in response to forces encountered during shaving, i.e. those elements move along non-parallel paths. In one embodiment, a razor head comprises a base, a guard element and a blade package movably supported for movement relative to said guard element. A movable support for the blade package comprises a first resilient portion extending generally forwardly from the base toward the guard element and a second resilient portion extending generally upwardly from a forward portion of the first resilient portion toward the blade package.

The various aspects of the present invention are directed to moving carts and moving cart assemblies. One embodiment comprises a moving cart assembly with a plurality of interlocking, vertically stackable, storage modules. The modules of this embodiment comprise a frame, preferably having at least four sides, e.g., a top, a back, a right side and a left side. Each module also comprises something to enclose the interior space, such as a pair of doors or a drawer which is selectively slidable into the frame. The needs of a particular office can be readily accommodated by using greater or fewer numbers of drawer modules and/or cabinet-type modules.

Moving cart assemblies

A disposable razor unit having a razor head is assembled with a handle. The handle has attachment means comprising at least one prong which extends outward from the handle. The prong has a tooth on the underside of the end opposite the handle. The razor head has a chamber which receives the attachment means of the handle when the razor head and the handle are fastened together. The chamber has a clearance slot and a locking shoulder at its innermost, central point into which the tooth of the prong fits to fasten the razor head and handle together. The fit between the handle and the razor head is such that the razor head may be removed by a forward force exerted on the top of the chamber by the user; however the fit is sufficient that the handle and the razor head will not become separated by normal forces encountered during shaving.

A disposable razor unit having a razor head is assembled with a handle. The handle has attachment means comprising at least one prong which extends outward from the handle. The present invention features a disposable razor unit having a razor head which is detachable from the handle. According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the handle has attachment means which consists of three prongs which extend outward from the handle. The center prong has a tooth on the underside of the end opposite the handle. The razor head has a chamber which receives the attachment means of the handle when the razor head and the handle are coupled. The chamber has a clearance slot and a locking shoulder at its innermost, central point into which the tooth of the middle prong fits to fasten the razor head and handle together. The fit between the handle and the razor head is such that the razor head may be removed by a forward force exerted on the top of the chamber by the user, however the fit is sufficient that the handle and the razor head will not become separated by normal forces encountered during shaving.

Razors adapted to support a razor head during shaving while permitting the razor head to move relative to the razor in response to forces encountered during shaving. Preferred embodiments allow a razor head to swivel and also to pivot about an axis normal to a central axis of the razor and normal to an imaginary axis defined by the points of attachment of the razor to a razor head. According to another aspect, an engagement arm comprises a novel slot for controlling the movement of the engagement during shaving, as well as during loading/unloading of a razor head. Embodiments of this invention enable the razor head to maintain optimum shave relation with the skin regardless of the angular differences between the cartridge head, razor handle/grip and shaving motion during shaving.

Razors providing pivoting and swivelling razor head support

Shaving systems having a first support, at least one, and preferably a plurality, of resilient supports, and a plurality of skin-engaging elements movably arranged in spaced relation and supported by the resilient support. The resilient supports normally maintain the movable skin-engaging elements, e.g. blades, guards, and/or cap member, in spaced relation such that the movable, skin-engaging elements are spaced by a first distance, relative to each other, when the skin-engaging elements are in a normal, unbiased position. In one embodiment, when one or more of the skin-engaging elements is acted upon by forces normally encountered during shaving, the resilient supports yield in order to move each of the blades and the cap into a more aggressive position.

Suspended blade shaving system

A razor which actively flexes at least one, and preferably a plurality of skin-engaging elements during shaving to follow the contours of a skin surface. One preferred razor comprises a support and a pair of rotating pivots movably connected to the support. Each rotating pivot contacts separate portions of a razor head. Shaving forces exerted on a first razor head portion in a first direction will cause the rotating pivot to move a second razor head portion in a second direction which is different from the first direction. The razor also comprises means for biasing the rotating pivots to a neutral position. In one embodiment, the support comprises a pivot assembly to which the rotating pivots are connected thereby providing another degree of movement to the rotating pivots relative to the support.

Razors which actively flex a razor head in response to shaving forces

A flexible razor head which can flex convexly and concavely during shaving to follow the contours of a skin surface. A blade support comprises a rubber-like material which is compressible and preferably allows the blades to angularly and vertically deflect.

Ultra-flexible shaving cartridge

Shaving systems having a first support, at least one, and preferably a plurality, of resilient supports, and a plurality of skin-engaging elements movably arranged in spaced relation and supported by the resilient support. The resilient supports normally maintain the movable skin-engaging elements, e.g. blades and/or cap member, in spaced relation such that the movable, skin-engaging elements are spaced by a first distance, relative to each other, when the skin-engaging elements are in a normal, unbiased position. In one embodiment, when one or more of the skin-engaging elements is acted upon by forces normally encountered during shaving, the resilient supports yield in order to move each of the blades and the cap into a less aggressive, compressed position wherein the spacing between neighboring skin-engaging elements is reduced.

In order to provide a razor head for arrangement at the front end of a handle, which, with a simple construction and easy assembly suitable for mass production and low manufacturing cost, improves the results of shaving and also can be used at body locations which are difficult to access for cosmetic and medical purposes, a razor head (1) for arrangement at the front end of a handle (2) is proposed, with a housing (3) in which are inserted at least two razor blades (8, 10) at an angle to each other and with essentially parallel cutting edges pointing away from each other, which together with adjacent housing parts define at least one contact plane, to which the respective razor blades are arranged at an essentially optimum cutting angle.

Bi-directional wire-wrapped blade cartridge

Segmented guard bar wherein segments of adjacent guard bars are tapered such that the skin flow through spaces between the segments is reduced. According to one preferred, illustrated embodiment, the distance between the rearward portion of adjacent segments is less than the space between the forward portions of those segments. Though not limited to any specific type of razor, the present invention is particularly suited for use with a flexible razor head having a cap member, at least one and preferably two blades separated by a spacer, a blade seat having a plurality of blade support portions separated by corrugations, and a segmented guard bar with each segment independently connected to the blade support portions.

A wet-shaving razor unit having at least one vertically-displaceable blade responsive to forces encountered during shaving. The razor unit also includes laterally-disposed vertical return springs extending from and continuous with both ends of the razor unit for supporting the blade. The return springs allow vertical displacement of the blade in response to forces encountered during shaving and return the blade to a resting position in the absence of such forces.

A razor handle for movably supporting a flexible, wet-shaving razor unit. The handle includes a cartridge support, operable between a normal position and an advanced position, for providing support to the center of the razor unit during shaving. In the normal position, the razor unit is oriented in a substantially linear configuration, while in the advanced position, the cartridge support is advanced outwards from the housing of the handle mechanism such that the razor unit is oriented in a substantially convex configuration to enhance the shaving of concave body surfaces.
