A method for managing an electronic logbook of an aircraft, comprises the steps of agreeing or refusing a read and/or write request by a client post as a function of predefined criteria comprising criteria associated with predefined time intervals and network connectivity criteria. Developments describe the management of a degraded mode (for example in case of interruption and/or of the restoral of network connectivity, e.g. with notification of the client posts and/or local backup saves), criteria further dependent on that part of the electronic logbook designated by the read and/or write request, security levels and/or priority levels. Encryption, integrity verification, network quality of service and distributed database aspects are described. Software and system aspects are described.

Aircraft logbook management

A computer implemented method of computing performance for an aircraft, comprises the steps of collecting data from a plurality of data sources comprising data sources of avionics type and external data sources of non-avionics type; processing the data collected in an electronic device of EFB or electronic flight bag type; and undertaking the performance computation. Developments describe the extraction of data from images or audio streams; the manipulation of data of alarm, INOP, aircraft status, air conditioning and anti-ice, runway, ATIS, meteorological and/or NOTAM type; the interfaces with an FPS or flight planning system and/or a CMS or centralized maintenance system. System aspects and software aspects are described.

Aircraft performance computation

A computer implemented method for managing alarm and maintenance messages of an aircraft, comprises collecting information relating to the alarm, aircraft status and maintenance messages; transmitting the information collected to an electronic device of EFB or electronic flight bag type, the electronic device being able to correlate the alarm messages with the maintenance messages and to associate the descriptions of the alarms with links and electronic maintenance documents. Developments describe notably the extracting of data from images or audio streams; listening to the communications on an avionics bus between the centralized maintenance system CMS and the printing service Printer and/or ground equipment of AGARS or VHF type; and the establishing of links with the electronic documentation and the use of an electronic flight bag EFB.

Processing of aircraft alarm and maintenance messages

A transportable device for recording flight data obtained from an avionics system in an aircraft is provided. The device includes a case containing a laptop computer. The case limits the electromagnetic disturbances between the laptop and the avionics system. The laptop is connected to the avionics system, so as to receive the flight data to be recorded. The device can be applied to monitoring of flight data.

A method for performing a maintenance function of a system under diagnosis includes a step for hierarchical decomposition of the system under diagnosis into sub-systems based on the model of the system and, for each sub-system, steps for determination of a model of the sub-system starting from the model of the system, and allocation of a diagnostic method depending on the processing and memory resources of said sub-system. The method allocated is a first diagnostic method based on the model of the system or a second diagnostic method based on predefined logical relationships. The method further includes calculation of the logical relationships for the sub-systems implementing the second diagnostic method, and the transfer of the logical relationships to the sub-systems implementing the second method and the transfer of the model to the sub-systems implementing the first method.

Method and device for performing a maintenance function

A system and device is provided for formulating alerts of the items of equipment of an aircraft. The device includes a database of virtual objects representing the items of equipment for constructing a virtual model representative on the one hand of the topological configuration of the network of items of equipment and on the other hand of the configuration of the chain of functional applications implemented by the items of equipment, means for each virtual object to formulate a request for consulting the status of the functional application carried out by the item of equipment associated with the object and means for detecting alerts for formulating requests for consulting the status of each of the objects of the virtual model so as to detect anomalies of configuration of the topology of the network of items of equipment and of the chain of functional applications of the virtual model and to transmit the alerts associated with the anomalies. The device detects and manages the alerts of an aircraft.

Device for formulating the alerts of an aircraft system

A method of preventive maintenance for an aircraft, the aircraft having components, including items of equipment of the aircraft and/or electronic modules and/or physical links. The lifetime information for the components is known. The aircraft also includes means for monitoring the components, a centralized maintenance system, and means for estimating the life time of the components. The aircraft carries out a set of functions, each being ensured by a chain of components. The method comprises several steps including, a first step of locating the degradations of the items of equipment, a second step making it possible to allocate the located degradations to the various functions of the aircraft, a third step of estimating the lifetime of the functions identified in the second step, and a fourth step of formulating the maintenance message constructed on the basis of the previous steps.

Formulation of a preventive maintenance message relating to the functional degradations of an aircraft

A centralized maintenance system for aircraft which includes line replacement units (LRUs). The system includes at least one digital database whose data are information relating to the LRUs; and a device for updating the data of the database. The lifetime information for the LRUs is known and contained in the digital database. The database includes a mean time between failure (MTBF) data of each LRU. The MTBF data is able to be modified and updated, according to at least one event modifying the failure probabilities for at least one LRU.
