A method of manufacturing an insulative material cellular insulator around a conductor, the insulator having a longitudinal passage in which the conductor is housed and closed cells extending longitudinally and separated from each other by radial walls, includes the following operations: the insulative material in the viscous state is extruded to impart the required shape to it to form the cells, the insulative material shaped in this way is applied to the conductor, and the insulative material is cooled to obtain the insulator. The insulative material is applied to the conductor at a distance from the exit of the shaping device such that the material is drawn down sufficiently for the walls of the cells not to be thinned without pressurizing the cells.

Method and device for manufacturing an insulative material cellular

A high frequency electric cable including at least one inner electrical conductor comprising a twisted strand of conductive wires, wherein a metal tape is taped with overlap around said strand. The overlapping metal tape is used to provide a low linear attenuation and to provide good mechanical strength.

High frequency electric cable

The herringbone harness has multiple branches leading off from a trunk divided into segments by the forks at which the branches start. The harness is exclusively shielded firstly by first braids made over the individual branches, each first braid having a first enlarged tab over at least one of the segments on either side of the branch in question, and secondly by second braids made over the individual segments, each second braid having a second enlarged tab over that adjacent segment which is of smaller diameter than the segment in question. The application is a shielded harness serving multiple points from a common point of origin.

Shielded 'herringbone' harness

The shielded harness has multiple branches and at least one fork, and has shielding braids over the various branches. The harness includes shielding continuity means over each fork, which means are constituted exclusively by enlarged tabs in the individual shielding braids of the various branches, each enlarged tab extending over the fork and beyond over another branch, and being covered by the shielding braid of said other branch.

Shielded multibranch harness

A low loss coaxial cable has a central supporting rod of plastic, covered in metal and forming the inner conductor or core of the coaxial cable. An intermediate insulation made of a dielectric material surrounds the inner conductor and an outer metal conductor surrounds the intermediate insulation. The central rod is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) having a relative density greater than or equal to 1.6. The intermediate insulation has a relative density less than 1.2 and the ratio of the density of the dielectric constituting the intermediate insulation divided by the density of the PTFE constituting the rod lies in the range of 0.15 to 0.75.

Low loss coaxial cable

A multi-conductor screened electric cable in which each conductor may be connected in parallel to an elelctrical contact without having to break the cable. Such connections are made in predetermined zones of the cable. All of the conductors of the predetermined zones are parallel and lie in a plane. In addition to its insulated conductors, the cable includes an uninsulated conductor element (5) providing electrical continuity for its screening (6), and also making it possible to make an electrical contact with the screening. The insulated conductors (3, 4) and the uninsulated conductor element (8) are disposed at predetermined accurate distances relative to one another. The cable is particularly suitable for computer networks.
