The radio system () comprises a waveform generator () alternately generating an FMCW wave representing a linearly frequency-modulated continuous wave for radar imaging and a CW wave representing a wave kept at a given frequency for measuring a velocity vector, an amplification chain (), a set () of transmit antennas (), a set () of receive antennas (), a set () of receivers (-), and a signal processor () implementing processing operations on FMCW signals received from the one or more lateral antennas () of the set () of receive antennas () and spectrally analysing CW signals received from the one or more lateral antennas () and from the one or more ventral antennas () of the set () of receive antennas () so as to supply SAR images and components of the velocity vector of said airborne vehicle ().

Radio system with multiple antenna arrays and adaptive waveforms

A control circuit (10) controls a voltage controlled oscillator (15) to cause the signal at the output of the oscillator to have slopes of frequency variation in accordance with biphase encoded data to be transmitted. The control circuit (10) limits abrupt frequency shifts in the oscillator output signal by inverting a sign multiplying the slope of frequency variation, utilizing an amplifier (50) with a controllable inversion state, in response to whether the state of the data to be transmitted, and a state, indicative of whether a frequency control voltage exceeds a zero threshold at sampling instants synchronous with the biphase data, are the same or different.

Information transmission arrangement using frequency modulation

The arrangement (201) comprises an optical narrow detection beam (203) focussing system for a passive infrared radiation in accordance with a reference plane (U). A filter selects the spectral analysis band and at least one passive infrared radiation detector is provided in the focal plane. According to the invention, the arrangement comprises a first analog processing chain and a second digital processing chain by means of which it is possible to recover in accordance with a characteristic curve at least the undercarriage of vehicles. On this curve, each turning element of the undercarriage assumes the shape of an identifiable pulse. The arrangement is used in the identification of moving vehicles in a predetermined plane.

Intrusion detection and identification arrangement for land vehicles

This arrangement comprises a fixed frequency emitter circuit (10) for directing a wave (12) to a surface (2) by means of a transmission antenna (11), a receiver circuit (25) for receiving by means of at least one receiving antenna (23) the wave (12) returned by the surface, and a processing circuit (30) for processing the return wave and enabling production of an indication of the velocity. The processing circuit has two branches (50 and 54), a direct branch for applying the received signal to one input of a multiplying member (52), and a delaying branch for applying the received signal to the other input of the multiplying member after having produced a delay t.sub.0 relative to the direct branch. A frequency estimating element (60) receives the multiplying member output signal and a calculation member (62) produces the indication of the velocity from the estimating member output signal and of the distance 'h'.
