The present invention relates to a process for preparing alkylalkanolamines, comprising the reaction of a carbonyl-based compound with a hydroxylalkylamine, in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst.

Process for preparing alkylalkanolamines

A method for working or forming metals which consists in usings an aqueous lubricant containing as water-soluble extreme pressure additive, methanesulphonic acid or water-soluble methanesulphonic acid salt. The water-soluble methane sulphonic acid salt is an alkali or alkaline-earth, ammonium, alkanol amine or ethoxylated fatty amine salt. The inventive aqueous lubricants have good extreme pressure properties and good properties with respect to corrosion.

Method for working or forming metals in the presence of aqueous lubricants based on methanesulfonic acid

It is possible to make very concentrated solutions of N-coco-, N-oleyl- or N-tallow-propylenediamine acetate which can be diluted without formation of gels or of lumps in a water/dissolving agent solvent. A simple dilution test is given which allows the suitable compositions to be selected. Use of their diluted solutions, in particular for the lubrication of bottles on conveyor lines.

Aqueous-alcoholic solutions of coconut or palm oil alkylamidopropylbetaines with a betaine content of greater than 50%, which are fluid, stable and pumpable are described as occupying a well-defined zone of their betaine/water/ethanol ternary diagram. They are prepared by synthesis and quaternization of the amidoamine directly in the solvent medium in which they are defined.
