An electronic component may include e.g. a solid-state light radiation source, preferably a LED light radiation source, is provided with electrical contact pads for soldering onto a mounting board. The electrical contact pads are arranged over a soldering area having a central portion and a peripheral portion surrounding said central portion. The electrical contact pads include at least one first electrical contact pad arranged at central portion of the soldering area, and at least one second electrical contact pad arranged at peripheral portion of the soldering area.

A lighting assembly, comprising: a casing having a bowl-like structure with a bottom wall defining a window opening; a radiation source board with a light radiation source situated opposite said opening so as direct said light radiation outside of the casing; and a driving circuit board for said radiation source, said boards being stacked together without air gaps in between, with said circuit board directed towards said casing.

Lighting assembly

A support structure for lighting devices, the support structure includes a ribbon-like support member with electrically conductive lines with mounting locations for electrically powered light radiation sources. The structure includes a sequence of adjacent units having opposed end regions and is severable between mutually facing end regions of adjacent units in the sequence. The units include, at the end regions, at least one electrical connection formation. The electrical connection formation includes a proximal portion electrically coupled to the electrically conductive lines of the respective unit, and a distal portion electrically insulated from the proximal portion. The distal portion is electrically coupled to the distal portion of an electrical connection formation provided in an adjacent unit to the respective unit in the sequence of adjacent units and is separable therefrom by severing the support structure.

Support structure for lighting devices and corresponding method

A lighting assembly includes: a heat sink having a mounting surface for a light source; a light source board having said light source thereon, said light source board being arranged against said mounting surface and having an outer perimeter edge, and a drive board carrying drive circuitry for said light source, said drive board being fixed onto said heat sink with said light source board sandwiched therebetween, said drive board having an aperture with an inner edge complementary to said outer edge of said light source board, whereby said light source is left uncovered by said drive board, and wherein: said inner edge of said drive board has an inwardly protruding frame formation with said outer perimeter edge of said light source board abutting against said frame formation, and said light source board has a thickness whereby said drive board and said mounting surface have a clearance therebetween.

Lighting assembly and associated method

A device for mounting lighting sources on a substrate includes a channel-like mounting frame provided with fixing formations for fixing on said substrate, said mounting frame defining a cavity for receiving said lighting source with said lighting source resting on said substrate, a slider member which can be positioned in said cavity of said mounting frame to urge said lighting source toward said substrate; said slider member being slidable with respect to said mounting frame between an insertion position and a locking position, wherein said mounting frame and said slider member bear complementary engagement formations cooperating in a ramp-like manner to force said slider member and the lighting source urged thereby toward said substrate when said slider member is advanced from said insertion position toward said locking position.

Mounting device for lighting sources

A lighting device includes a lighting source, e.g. a LED lighting source, arranged between a first and a second component with a coupling structure interposed between the first and the second component to sealingly couple them together. The coupling structure includes at least one layer resiliently deformable to permit relative displacement of the first and second components.

A mounting device for mounting on a substrate a plate or board-like lighting source may include a frame member for surrounding the plate or board-like lighting source, anchoring formations for anchoring the frame member onto the substrate while permitting movement of the frame member towards and away from the substrate, elastic means for elastically urging the frame member towards the substrate, and one or more locking members mounted on the frame member and radially displaceable with respect to the frame member between: a radially outward position, in which the plate or board-like lighting source can be inserted into the frame member and positioned between the frame member and the substrate, and a radially inward position, in which the locking member(s) abuts/abut against the plate or board-like lighting source located between the frame member and the substrate, elastically urging the plate or board-like lighting source towards the substrate.

Mounting device for lighting sources and associated method

A light fixture may include a plurality of elongate members, each extending between opposed ends and carrying one or more light radiation sources, such as LEDs, and at least one hinge member which mechanically couples one end of one of the elongate members to one end of another of the elongate members. Thus the hinge member allows the orientation of the elongate members between: an open position, wherein the elongate members extend in sequence with each other in a common direction, and a closed position, wherein the elongate members extend side by side.

A method of producing cut-to-length flexible electrical cords includes providing a flexible strip having a plurality of electrically conductive lines extending along the strip, arranging along said strip a plurality of electrical connectors including a plurality of tubular electrical conductors extending in a bridge-like manner between two subsequent portions of one of the conductive lines of said plurality, separating a portion of a given length from said flexible strip by cutting at least one said connector in a transverse plane, thus cutting the plurality of tubular electrical conductors in the cut connector, whereby said portion separated from said flexible strip forms a flexible electrical cord having, at one end at least, a plurality of electrical connection holes or sockets exposed as a result of the cutting of said tubular conductors.

A method for mounting planar lighting modules on a mounting surface may include: providing on opposite sides of the lighting module fixing indentations opening toward the aforesaid sides, superimposing on said opposite sides of the lighting module stiffening bars having lateral lobes extending into said indentations, and fixing to the mounting surface the stiffening bars superimposed on the opposite sides of the lighting module with the opposite sides of the lighting module sandwiched between the stiffening bars and the mounting surface, whereby the stiffening bars urge the lighting module toward the mounting surface.

Method for mounting lighting modules and equipment therefor

A lighting module includes a power line for receiving a power supply current and a ground line, a segmentation point for cutting the lighting module into two parts, a first set of light sources upstream of the segmentation point, a second set of light sources downstream of the segmentation point, wherein the first and second sets of light sources are connected in series, and a resistive element connected to the intermediate point between the first and the second set of light sources, and the ground line, which is configured in such a way that: when the lighting module has not been cut, the resistive element has a resistance which is greater than the resistance of the portion of the lighting module downstream of the segmentation point, and when the lighting module has been cut, the resistive element has a resistance which is less than the resistance thereof.

Lighting module

A lighting device includes a tray-like housing with a base wall, at least one light radiation source on the base wall of the housing, having electrical contact pads in an opposite position from the base wall of the housing, and a circuit board on the base wall of the housing with electrically conductive lines extending on the face of the board opposite from the base wall of the housing, with respective electrical contact pads placed in positions facing the electrical contact pads of the light radiation source. At least one optical element is provided, with a light input to collect light radiation at the light radiation source and one or more light outputs to project light radiation from the lighting device. The optical element has an electrically non-conductive base wall which urges the light radiation source or sources and the circuit board toward the base wall of the housing.

Lighting device having optical element carrying electrical contacts

Various embodiments relate to a lighting module. The lighting module includes at least one light source, regulating means for regulating the brightness of the light emitted by the at least one light source, and a control unit configured for receiving a brightness control signal, and driving the regulation means as a function of the brightness control signal, wherein the control unit is configured for: verifying whether the brightness control signal contains a digital communication signal, and if the brightness control signal includes a digital communication signal, detecting the data transmitted via the digital communication signal and driving the regulating means as a function of the transmitted data, or if the brightness control signal does not includes a digital communication signal, driving the regulating means as a function of the brightness control signal.

Lighting module and a corresponding lighting system

Provide a plurality of lighting modules. Connect together a plurality of the lighting modules for forming a series of lighting modules. Cut the series of lighting modules into lighting devices having a lighting module. Interconnection elements of the last lighting module of each lighting device are cut along their transverse axes. Each lighting module includes a first set of contacts placed at a first end of said lighting module and a second set of contacts placed in corresponding positions at a second end of said lighting module. Each lighting module is connected to the next lighting module by means of interconnection elements which connect the first set of contacts of each lighting module to the second set of contacts of the next lighting module. Interconnection elements include a base plate and a hollow portion in order to form female connectors when said interconnection elements are cut along their transverse axis.

Method of producing a lighting device, and a corresponding lighting device

Lighting module mounted onto a C-shaped rail having a bottom wall and electrical lines extending along the rail includes a light source board having a first face carrying one or more light radiation sources and a second face carrying electrical contacts. A channel-shaped housing envelops the board and has a web wall for emitting the light radiation and two opposed side walls each facing one of the longitudinal edges of the board. Each of a pair of opposed guide members extends along one of the longitudinal edges of the board facing a corresponding side wall of the housing. Each of the guide members and the corresponding side wall of the housing have complementary, mutually cooperating, ramp-like surfaces to retain the light source board within the housing. Elastic members urge the board away from the web wall of the housing, whereby the complementary ramp-like surfaces are elastically urged against each other.
