The rewinding machine () comprises: a winding station () with winding members () operated by winding motors (); an unwinder () with an unwinding member () operated by at least one unwinding motor (); guide roller () along a feed path (P) of the web material (N, N). There is associated with the guide roller () at least one load sensor (), adapted to detect a parameter proportional to the tension of the web material (N; N) guided around the guide roller (). There is also provided a control unit () adapted to modulate a difference in speed between the winding members () and the unwinding member () as a function of a signal coming from the load sensor ().
