An anti-wobble device for a connecting rod (3) in a mechanism comprising a crankshaft (1) connected via a spherical coupling (4) to the larger end (5) of the said connecting rod (3), the smaller end (6) of which is connected via a similar spherical coupling (7) to an arm (8) fixed to a driven shaft (9), the axis of which is perpendicular to the axis of the crankshaft (1), in which device, a rigid element (13-16) is integrally and perpendicularly mounted on the driven shaft (9), with respect to which it can also be adjusted both axially and radially; this rigid element makes contact with a curved surface (12) formed on the small end (6) of the connecting rod (3) and concentric with respect to the axis of the said small end (6) of the connecting rod (3), against which surface the said element can rub in a parallel manner during the movements of the mechanism.

Device for feeding the work in a differential-feed sewing machine, comprising a feed shaft (14) oscillating about its axis, a curved lever (32) connected on the one side to the said shaft (14) and on the other side to a small connecting rod (30) which is in turn hinged with the differential feed slide (27) and an element (38) for adjusting the feed in order to vary the amplitude of oscillation of the said small connecting rod (30), wherein there are provided means (34, 36) for locking and releasing the said lever (32) with respect to the feed shaft (14) and wherein the element (38) for adjusting the feed is free at one end (38') and at the other end is articulated with a pin (31) with which the said lever (32) and the said small connecting rod (30) are hinged so that the said lever (32), released from the shaft (14), is displaced by means of the said adjusting element (38), which makes it project more or less from the shaft (14), and is locked to the shaft (14) itself in the corresponding positions.

Sewing machine differential feed

A work feed device for sewing machines, which comprises feed dog carrier bars performing an elliptical movement with the aid of two mechanisms; namely, an advancing mechanism and a raising mechanism. The advancing mechanism is composed of an oscillating shaft provided with arms, which in turn are connected to the feed dog support bars at the opposite end to that where the dogs are mounted. The raising mechanism comprises a support making a vertical reciprocating movement and which is provided with a horizontal guide along which the feed dog support bars are moved reciprocatingly by the advancing mechanism. Finally, vertical movement of the support comprises two connecting rods approximately parallel to one another. They are pivoted at one end to the said support and at the other end to a part connected to the frame of the sewing machine.

Work feed device in sewing machines

A lubricant sealing element for the slide members which actuate the feed dogs in a sewing machine fabricated from a resilient wear resistant material and having lubricant scraping surfaces formed by spaced walls defining an opening conforming in size to the cross-sectional configuration of the slide members and through which the latter extend. The sealing element is mounted for sliding movement restricted to the alternate vertical movement of the slide members and the spaced walls are of a thickness approximately one third the thickness of the remainder of said element which permits them to yield first in one direction and then the other with the alternate horizontal movement of the slide members.

Lubricant sealing device for sewing machines

An improved device for operating a needle in a sewing machine having a needle supporting clamp that is guided for sliding movement in a vertical plane by a needle bar. The needle bar is pivotably mounted on and depends from a support member which causes it to automatically align itself and follow the effective path of travel of the needle supporting clamp. The support member is mounted on the machine frame and is eccentrically positionable which provides a means whereby it can be selectively located in a position whereat the needle bar depending therefrom will never be subjected to more than a minimum amount of resistance by the needle supporting clamp during the latter's sliding movement thereon.

Needle control device for sewing machines

An apparatus for selectively changing the distance of needle travel in a sewing machine in which the needle is carried by a needle clamp and reciprocated by a crank driven control lever along a pathway defined by a fixed guide bar. One end of the control lever has a lever pivotably connected thereto and the opposite end of this lever is pivotably connected to an eccentrically mounted and selectively positionable pin that protrudes from the machine's housing. Each of the available positions of the pin provide a means for effecting a change in the distance a needle travels during seaming for the purpose of accommodating workpieces of different thicknesses.
