Bearing assembly comprising inner and outer rings and a plurality of rolling elements in the annular space between the rings means having a seat on the inner peripheral surface of one of the rings facing the annular space including a throat section having a saw tooth shaped axial profile, a seal system at least at one axial end of the annular space and having at least one generally rigid shield member, a cover member of resilient material covering at least a portion of the shield member, the shield member having a separate sleeve-shaped portion and with interposition of at least part of the elastomeric covering, in the annular with the sleeve portion of the armature being placed coaxially with the rings and presenting a separate rim, facing towards the outside of the annular cavity, folded over so as to engage in the sawtooth-shaped throat to immobilize the shield axially in the annular seat.

Seal bearing

Bearing assembly comprising inner and outer rings and a plurality of rolling elements in the annular space between the rings means having a seat on the inner peripheral surface of one of the rings facing the annular space incuding a throat section having a saw-toot shaped axial profile, a seal system at least at one axial end of the annular space and having at least one general rigid shield member, a cover member of resilient material covering at least a portion of the shield member, the shield member having a separate sleeve-shaped portion and with interposition of at least part of the elastomeric covering, in the annular seat with the sleeve portion of the armature being placed coaxially with the rings and presenting a separate rim, facing towards the outside of the annular cavity, folded over so as to engage in the sawtooth-shaped throat to immobilize the shield axially in the annular seat.

Method of making a seal for bearing assembly

A sealing shield assembly for a rolling bearing has at least one ring with a seat comprising at least one essentially reinforcing member and an anchoring device made of an elastomeric material for securing the enforcing member in the bearing seat. The reinforcing member includes a peripheral annular sleeve portion shaped like a cylindrical sleeve, and an anchoring device which includes a radially elastically compressible sleeve section made of an elastomeric material. It is secured as a unit to the sleeve portion on a lateral coupling surface thereof, and is adapted to be interposed between the annular sleeve portion and the bearing seat. A plurality of axial grooves are on a separate lateral surface opposite the said coupling surface of the annular sleeve portion. The grooves extend from a continuous annular end portion of the elastomeric sleeve section to a point corresponding to a terminal rim of the annular sleeve portion interrupted by the grooves. The elastomeric sleeve section is capable of interacting radially with interference with the bearing seat.

Seal for bearings

A seal for a rolling bearing having an inner bearing ring, an outer bearing ring, and rolling elements rolling in races therebetween, wherein a cover is affixed to the outer bearing ring and carries a sealing lip engaging the side surface of a groove adjacent an end of the inner bearing ring. A shoulder at the end of the inner bearing ring defines a gap seal with the cover. The cover extends substantially normal to the axis of the bearing and the sealing lip is either slightly conically inclined, or defines an annular outwardly extending groove.

Rolling bearing seal

There is described a support element for a vehicle wheel, particularly adapted to be used in a suspension for connection of the wheel to the strut thereof; the support element is substantially constituted by a bearing the respective inner and outer rings of which are both provided with respective facing radially outer flanges by means of which they are connectable on one side to the wheel and on the opposite side to the suspension strut, and the rolling bodies of which are constituted by conical rollers disposed adjacent one another to form a single ring with their axes alternately disposed at 90.degree. to one another.

Support element of improved type for a vehicle wheel

A tight bearing suitable for exceptionally heavy duty conditions is supplied with side screens (14) made of a plate composition (16) which is restrained to the external ring (10) of the bearing and forms a labyrinth seal against the internal ring (11), and of plastic and elastomer materials (15) supplied with a lip (17) which creates friction on the internal ring (11); other plates (18) are assembled externally with respect to the screens (14) and are integral on the internal ring (11) and form a labyrinth seal (23) with the external ring (10) of the bearing; the internal face of the external plates (28) is lined with a layer of plastic and elastomer material (19) from which at least one lip (20) extends and forms an essentially axial seal against the external face of the plate (16) of the internal adjacent screen (14); the lip (20) of the layer (19) which lines the internal face of the external plates (18 ) slips and seals along a certain length (21) of bent conical converging internal plate (16) towards the internal ring (11) and towards the external part of the bearing.

Tight bearing suitable for exceptionally heavy duty conditions

A sealing assembly which can be interposed between two relatively movable members to make a seal between the cavity lying between the said members and the exterior environment, composed of two annular elements each of which is firmly connected to one of the said members and on one of which are formed two sliding surfaces perpendicular to one another. The prinipal characteristic of the sealing assembly lies in the fact that it includes an annular sealing element having a sleeve-like lip on which is mounted a resilient element and radially from which extends an annular projection which can slide on one of the sliding surfaces, and a root zone from which extends a second lip independent of and substantially parallel to the first lip and able to slide on the other of the sliding surfaces.

Sealing device with an elastomeric ring having two sealing lips

A sealing system for sealing the space between relatively rotatable members comprising a rigid support element and an annular elastomeric sealing element having an internal radial annular lip extending radially and axially from an annular root portion of the elastomeric element. The annular lip has a radial section of generally V-shaped cross section, having its vertex located obliquely with respect to the axis of the elastomeric element and comprising two portions of reduced cross section, one of the portions corresponding to the root portion and the other to the vertex of the V. Portions of reduced cross section divide the annular lip into first and second sections operable to engage with corresponding sealing surfaces on one of the members and having sufficient flexibility to hingedly connect the sections to one another and to the root portion.

Contact type flexible seal for bearings

A taper roller bearing is described which has the particular feature of having the track of the inner ring capable of being inspected, such characteristic is obtained by means of a spacer cage the bridges of which extend both above and below the roller pitch circle identified by the axes of the rollers in such a way as to retain these latter in the pockets of the cage both on the outer ring side and on the inner ring side of the bearing; the cage in the pockets of which the rollers are snap-engageable, is removable together with the rollers of the track of the inner ring, being axially fixed to this latter by snap-engagement.

Taper roller bearing, particularly for railway use

An axial and radial sealing assembly comprising a protection ring which can be disposed annularly about a first body and frontally of a second body, and including a first part having a support function which carries a second part which has a sealing function. The main characteristic of this assembly is the fact that this second part has first radial surfaces forming an axial seal with the second body and second radial surfaces forming a radial seal with the first body.

A sealing unit comprises two rigid, face-to-face shields, one of which is provided with an annular elastomeric member exerting sliding radial sealing pressure on a track of the other shield. The other shield is provided with a radially-outer edge bent in such a manner as to define, on a front outer surface of the shield, a concavity, and, on an inner surface, a corresponding convexity cooperating with an axial annular rib on the elastomeric member, for defining a further seal.

The hydraulic tappet comprises a cup-shaped body having a cylindrical side wall and a flat bottom wall, a piston element moving axially inside a cavity, formed in the said bottom wall and defining a first pressure chamber, an annular element of deformable material located on the outside of the said piston element and inside the said cylindrical wall, ducts for hydraulically connecting the said second chamber to the said first chamber and on which is fitted an on-off member, and a guide element moving axially inside the said cylindrical wall on the said cup-shaped body and having a side surface and a bottom wall.

Hydraulic tappet comprising a cup member, the latter sliding in a seat and housing a second cup member sliding in relation to the first in such a manner as to form a first chamber, and a flexible annular member located essentially inside the said second cup member in such a manner as to form a fluidtight second chamber connected hydraulically to the said first chamber; the said two chambers being filled with activating fluid the flow of which from the said second to the said first chamber being controlled by an on-off member.

Hydraulic tappet essentially comprising a first cup member sliding in a seat; a second member sliding axially in relation to the first; a third annular member located inside the said first cup member and having a sleeve, inside the inner bore of which the said second member slides axially, and a ring projecting radially from the said sleeve and connected in fluidtight manner to the side wall on the said first cup member in such a manner as to form a first chamber for fluid under pressure; and a fourth annular member made of flexible material and located essentially inside the said first cup member and outside the said sleeve on the said third annular member in such a manner as to form a second activating fluid chamber connected hydraulically to the said first chamber over a duct with an on-off member.

There is disclosed a hydraulic tappet comprising a bucket element which slides inside a seat and houses a second bucket element that slides over an annular member integral with the first bucket element in such a manner as to form a first chamber. A deformable annular element is arranged around the second bucket element in such a manner so as to form a second fluid tight chamber connected hydraulically to the first chamber. The chambers are filled with drive fluid and the passage of the fluid from the second chamber to the first chamber is controlled by an on-off member.
