A sulfonated aliphatic or aromatic compound for the production of a modified polyamide that can significantly increase the glass transition temperature of the polyamide is described. A polyamide composition including at least: one polyamide modified by a sulfonated compound, the compound being chemically bonded to the polymer chain of the polyamide; and reinforcing or filling agents is also described. The composition can be a composition to be molded, for example, in the form of granules or powder, to be used in the production of articles using an injection molding method.

Modified polyamide composition

A thermoplastic composition based on polyamide and polyketone is described. The thermoplastic composition can have an excellent mechanical strength and dimensional stability. Further, the composition can include a novolac resin and a reinforcing or a bulking filler. The composition can be molded, for example in the form of granules or powder, which is used for manufacturing articles via an injection-molding process.

A method for manufacturing a composite article is described that includes a step of impregnating a reinforcing fabric with a semi-aromatic polyester composition in the molten state, having a melt viscosity &#x3b7; of 20 Pa&#xb7;s to 200 Pa&#xb7;s. The reinforcing fabric can be maintained at a temperature of plus or minus 50&#xb0; C. relative to the melting temperature of the polyester.

The use of a polyamide including hydroxyaromatic units in order to increase the acid resistance of a polyamide composition is described. A polyamide composition comprising a polyamide that includes hydroxyaromatic units and use thereof for the manufacture of various plastic articles such as, for example, calibrated particles or injection-molded parts is also described. Such a composition is especially useful in the field of the recovery of slurries, liquids and gases present in underground reservoirs, and in particular in the field of the extraction of hydrocarbons, such as crude oil or natural gas.

A polyamide composition including reinforcing fillers, and a modified polyamide obtained by polymerization from, in particular, a monofunctional hydroxyaromatic acid or amino acid compound in the presence of diacid, diamine and/or amino acid or lactam compounds are also described.

A polyamide modified by a compound including at least one hydroxyl group, as well as to a method for preparing such a polyamide, and articles obtained from such a polyamide are described. A polyamide modified by a compound comprising at least one aromatic hydroxyl group and chemically bonded to the polymer chain, obtained by the polymerization of polyamide monomers with at least one difunctional hydroxyaromatic compound in which both functions can react with an amino function is also described.
