An apparatus and method for implementing successive treatments on samples, such as samples of fibers, in particular hair. The method is performed by applying at least one liquid followed by drying the samples. The apparatus includes a plurality of beakers each adapted to receive a sample and into which at least one treatment liquid is fed via a feeding device. The apparatus further includes a flow device for establishing a flow of drying gas in each beaker.

Method and apparatus for treating samples

A device for storing a liquid or pasty product and for dispensing a given quantity of the product includes a container that contains the product. A stopper is disposed at an upper end of the container. A dip tube extends through a channel of the stopper and into the container. A sealed enclosure receives the container such that the container can be subjected to a pressure higher than a pressure outside of the enclosure. A weighing element of the enclosure measures the weight of the container when the container is received in the enclosure. A controller controls a mechanism for pressurizing the enclosure by comparing a change in weight of the container with a set value that corresponds to a predetermined quantity of product to be ejected from the container, and interrupting pressurization of the container when the change in weight of the container has reached the set value.

A metering device has a chamber of variable volume, closed at one end by a closure member; a link for the chamber with the outside, and a control for the variations in the volume of the chamber, making it possible to draw in or to discharge depending on whether the volume increases or decreases. The closure member is traversed by at least one duct emerging in the chamber and towards a container; selection elements are provided either for connecting the duct to the product container, or for closing the duct; a dispensing orifice is provided in the wall of the chamber, this orifice being equipped with a shut-off capable of being closed when drawing into the chamber and of being opened for dispensing.
