Polymer composition for improved grade plastics from recycled material

A polymer composition including: wherein the amount of POE and SEBS is at least 3.5 wt %, preferably between 5 and 20 wt %, and wherein the wt % is relative to the total weight of the polymer composition.

The invention relates to a heterophasic propylene copolymer comprising a matrix phase comprising a propylene polymer and a dispersed phase comprising an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer comprising ethylene and at least one Cto Colefin, wherein the propylene polymer has a melt flow index of at least 200 dg/min or at least 150 dg/min as determined by IS01 133:2005 at 230&#xb0; C. and 2.16 kg, wherein the propylene polymer has an intrinsic viscosity IVand the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer has an intrinsic viscosity IVwhere the ratio of IV/IVis 3-7, wherein the copolymer comprises 8-20 wt % or 20-30 wt % of the ethylene-a-olefin elastomer, wherein the ethylene-a-olefin elastomer of the dispersed phase comprises 10-55 wt % of ethylene.

Heterophasic propylene copolymer

The invention is directed to a polypropylene composition comprising (A) a propylene-based polymer, (B) talc and (C) a functionalized polypropylene grafted with an acid or acid anhydride functional group, wherein components (A) and (C) are different, wherein the amount of the talc in the composition is 0.025-4 wt % of the total composition and the amount of the functionalized polypropylene is 0.005-0.75 wt % of the total composition.

The invention is directed to a thermoplastic composition and to an article made from said thermoplastic composition. More in particular, the invention relates to blended polyolefinic materials, which, after molding, provide a soft touch feel. The thermoplastic composition of the invention comprises (A) 10-40% by total weight of the composition of glass fibers; (B) 22-46% by total weight of the composition of a propylene homopolymer matrix phase; (C) 1.5-26% by total weight of the composition of an ethylene-propylene copolymer dispersed phase; and (D) 11-46% by total weight of the composition of a mixture of elastomers, said mixture comprising an ethylene/C&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer and an ethylene/C&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer.

Thermoplastic composition and article

The invention is directed to a polypropylene composition, to a three-dimensional article comprising said polypropylene composition, and to the use of said polypropylene composition. The polypropylene composition of the invention comprises a) a multimodal polypropylene homopolymer comprising at least the following fractions i) 10-30% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a fraction with a melt flow index of 5-45 g/10 min; ii) 10-30% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a fraction with a melt flow index of 50-200 g/10 min; and iii) 3-10% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a fraction with a melt flow index of 250-900 g/10 min; wherein the melt flow index is as measured according to ISO 1133 using a 2.16 kg weight and at a temperature of 230&#xb0; C.; b) 1-8% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a first C/Cphase having an intrinsic viscosity at 135&#xb0; C. of 1.5-2.5 dl/g, of which the ethylene content in the xylene cold soluble fraction is 45-65% by total weight of the xylene cold soluble fraction; c) 1-8% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a second C/Cphase having an intrinsic viscosity at 135&#xb0; C. of 2.6-4.0 dl/g, of which the ethylene content in the xylene cold soluble fraction is 45-65% by total weight of the xylene cold soluble fraction; d) 10-25% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a C/Cphase having an intrinsic viscosity at 135&#xb0; C. of 1.2-2.1 dl/g and a density of 0.85-0.89 g/cm3; and e) 10-30% by total weight of the polypropylene composition of a mineral filler.

Polypropylene composition

A soft touch composition comprises, based on the total weight of the composition, 50 to 88 wt % of a polymer comprising, based on the total weight of the polymer, 44 to 52 wt % of a polypropylene homopolymer, 3 to 30 wt % of an ethylene-propylene copolymer, and 22 to 52 wt % of an ethylene-Cto Calpha olefin copolymer, and 10 to 40 wt % of glass fibers.

Soft touch compositions and articles thereof

The invention relates to a moulded article made from a polypropylene composition comprising 48-94.9 mass % of a polypropylene; 5-30 mass % of glass fibers having average length of 1-50 mm; 0.1-2 mass % of oleamide and/or erucamide; and 0-20 mass % of other additives; the article showing a color change of dL&#x3c;2 in the PSA/Renault scratch tests and a color change of dL&#x3c;1.5 in the Erichsen scratch test. This article shows an excellent combination of properties, especially a good balance between stiffness and impact resistance, which have excellent surface appearance, and high resistance to surface scratching and abrasion.
