A latch is provided including a claw configured to rotate between an open position and a closed position. A pawl is rotatable in and out of engagement with the claw. The latch includes a first release mechanism, a second release mechanism, and a third release mechanism. The first release mechanism applies a rotational force to a first portion of the pawl to rotate the pawl out of engagement with the claw. The second release mechanism applies a rotational force to a second portion of the pawl to rotate the pawl out of engagement with the claw. The third release mechanism applies a rotational force to a first portion of the pawl to rotate the pawl out of engagement with the claw.

Rear compartment latch with power and manual release mechanism

A vehicle door latch assembly is provided, the latch assembly having: a fork bolt movably secured to the latch assembly, the fork bolt being capable of movement between a latched position and an unlatched position; a detent lever movably secured to the latch assembly, the detent lever being capable of movement between an engaged position and a disengaged position, the detent lever retains the fork bolt in the latched position when the detent lever is in the engaged position and a engagement surface of the detent lever contacts an engagement surface of the fork bolt; and a spring member integrally formed with the detent lever, the spring member being deflected by a bumper secured to the latch assembly when the detent lever is moved to the engaged position.

Vehicle door latch

A latch is provided including a fork bolt configured to rotate between an unlatched position and a latched position. A bellcrank lever is operably coupled to the fork bolt via a detent lever. The bellcrank lever has an engagement ledge located adjacent a slot of the bellcrank lever. The engagement shelf prevents movement of a gear configured to move the detent lever via movement of the bellcrank lever.

Apparatus and method for preventing movement of release mechanism of a vehicle latch

A striker plate assembly for use with a latch includes a base plate having an angled first end and an angled second end. A generally u-shaped striker wire extends perpendicular to the base plate. A first sidewall and a second sidewall are connected to the first end and the second end of the base plate respectively. The first sidewall and the second sidewall extend generally perpendicular to the base plate in the same direction as the striker wire. The first sidewall and the second sidewall include a geometric feature. A first bumper is connected to the first sidewall through the geometric feature and a second bumper is connected to the second sidewall through the geometric feature.
