Systems and methods are provided for measuring an ambient light level in a volume that is lighted by a pulsating light source. A first light sensor is configured to generate a first signal based on an amount of light detected in the volume. A bypass switch is configured to bypass the first light sensor at a first point in time when the light source is on and to not bypass the first light sensor at a second point in time when the light source is off. A second sensor is configured to generate a second signal based on an environment in the volume, and a difference circuit is configured to determine a difference magnitude between the second signal and the first signal to generate an ambient light signal.

Systems and methods are provided for a transformerless power supply configured to limit heat generation. A system includes a power supply input configured to receive power from a time-varying input voltage source. A phase control circuit is configured to generate a current control signal, where the current control signal commands power to be drawn from the power supply through an output transistor, where the current control signal commands the drawn power to have a minimum current when the time-varying input voltage is at a maximum, and where the current control signal commands the drawn power to have a maximum current when the time-varying input voltage is at a minimum. A power supply output is responsive to the output transistor, where the power supply output is configured to output power drawn from the power supply input via the output transistor, wherein the outputted power is at a consistent power level.

A method for injecting test jitter in a data bit stream comprises modulating first and second voltage generators to control a rise and fall times of an output signal, respectively. A pair of input voltages are received by a differential pair. At least one current sink device is operated using a first control voltage provided by at least one of the voltage generators to provide an output voltage in response to the input voltages received by the differential pair. A plurality of current sources are operated to provide the output signal using a reference voltage provided by one of the voltage generators in response to the input voltages received by the differential pair, wherein simultaneous variation of the rise and fall times together with the input voltages define the output signal and jitter output by the current sink device and the current sources.

Systems and methods for injection of test jitter in data bit-streams

An imaging device includes a Gray Code generator and an array of pixels. Each pixel includes a complimentary metal oxide semiconductor (&ldquo;CMOS&rdquo;) sensor, a comparator and random access memory (e.g., ferroelectric random access memory). The Gray Code generator is started at the beginning of capture mode and begins providing a sequence of code words. Within each pixel, an output of a CMOS sensor is compared to a threshold, and a code word in the sequence is stored in random access memory when the sensor output crosses the threshold. Thus, the random access memory of each pixel stores a code word that represents the intensity of light detected by its associated CMOS sensor.
