A liquid dispensing container particularly for single-use dispensing if eye medication and self-application if eye drop. The container for the liquid storage cavity has a molded plastic housing and a flexible cavity wall. The wall is manually squeezable or deformable to enable a reduction in the volume of the cavity and compression and displacement of the medication therefrom. The plastic housing has an integrally molded nozzle which combine to control displaced flow and drop size of the dispensed medication.

A liquid dispensing container particularly for single-use dispensing of eye medication and self-application of eye drop. The container for the liquid storage cavity has a molded plastic housing and at least one metallic foil wall secured to form an exterior wall of the housing and a flexible cavity wall. The foil wall is manually squeezable or deformable to enable a reduction in the volume of the cavity and compression and displacement of the medication therefrom. The foil wall is impervious to water vapor transmission out of the cavity which extends the shelf life of the stored container. The foil wall is also conveniently printed with labelling text and color. The plastic housing has an integrally molded nozzle which combine to control displaced flow and drop size of the dispensed medication.

A syringe for sampling bodily fluids, such as blood and the like, from a patient, comprises a first sleeve member and a second sleeve member disposed for relative shifting. The first sleeve member includes a first receiving chamber, and the second sleeve member includes a second receiving chamber. A needle mount is disposed on the first sleeve member for holding a needle in operative connection with the first receiving chamber so that bodily fluids can pass from the needle into the first receiving chamber. A filter is disposed in at least one of the first and the second sleeve members for permitting gas flow but prohibiting bodily fluid flow therethrough. The first receiving chamber communicates with the second receiving chamber through the filter so that relative shifting of the sleeve members causes gas within the first receiving chamber to flow through the filter into the second receiving chamber, thereby causing bodily fluid to flow into a first receiving chamber.

Blood sampling syringe

A fastener drive tool for applying a rotational torque to a threaded fastener for driving the fastener into or out of a workpiece. The drive tool has an elongated shaft portion with a free end which is engageable with a recess formed in the fastener. Alternating merging concave and convex partially-cylindrical surfaces are formed on the outside of the shank towards the free end of the drive tool. The axes of curvature of the concave and convex partially-cylindrical surfaces are generally parallel to one another. The drive tool has at least one interlobular fastener retention piece attached between two convex partially-cylindrical surfaces which engage a corresponding convex partially-cylindrical surface formed in the fastener recess. The interlobular fastener retention piece releasably retains the fastener on the drive tool when the drive tool is engaged with the recess formed in the fastener and prevents wobbling of the fastener when it is driven by the drive tool.

There is disclosed an improved adjusting mechanism for an articulated headlamp construction or the like. The adjusting mechanism is comprised of a minimum number of parts, namely a housing, a scroll member and an adjusting rack member. The scroll member provides the input member for the mechanism and upon rotation thereof rotative movement thereof is transformed into transitory movement of the rack member pursuant to a spiral or scroll projection that is engaged with teeth on the adjusting rack member. The transitory movement of the adjusting rack member will correspondingly produce pivotal movement of the articulated headlamp component. If desired, the adjusting rack member may be curved so that the movement of the end thereof affixed to the headlamp will closely approximate the pivotal movement of the headlamp component. Further, there is disclosed a combination of an articulated headlamp component and an adjusting mechanism of the type having a rotatable input member and a output member operatively connected thereto for transitory movement upon rotation of the input member. In this regard, the output member is provided with a socket construction on the end thereof which is engaged with a ball component of a ball-headed screw affixed to an articulated headlamp thereby eliminating the need for brackets and individual socket components affixed to the headlamp as is the standard practice in the art.

A contact lens case for use with a contact lens disinfecting system employing one or more disinfecting tablets or catalysts and which comprises a cup having a bottom portion and a basket assembly for releasably holding contact lenses insertable into the cup. The cup is of dimentions sufficient for holding a predetermined amount of disinfecting fluid in disinfecting contact with the lenses when the basket assembly is inserted into the cup. A reaction chamber of predetermined dimensions for retaining the disinfecting tablets in close proximity within the cup for permitting occurrence of disinfecting solution-producing reactions depends from the bottom portion of said cup. There is also provided a novel, one-piece basket assembly including a cap, stem, base plate, hingedly connected baskets and latching extensions.

Lens case for contact lens disinfecting system

A liquid dispensing nozzle assembly for mounting on a squeezable liquid container and dispenser to maintain liquid in sterile condition during storage and repeated dispensing from the container, includes a conduit having a liquid discharge port leading to the ambience for discharge of the liquid therethrough to dispense liquid from the container. The liquid discharge port is formed in a discharge structure which eliminates microbial contamination of the discharge port during dispensing and storage of the liquid. Embodiments of the liquid dispensing nozzle have a liquid discharge structure including a composition comprising an antimicrobial component, in order to maintain microbially sterile condition of any liquid retained against the discharge structure following liquid dispensing therefrom. Additional embodiments of the nozzle structure of the invention include a tubular passage from which the liquid is discharged in which the tubular passage has a collapsible end portion defining a normally closed liquid dishcarge port. Tensioning members maintain tension on the end portion to retain the normally collapsed configuration thereof, while allowing the discharge port to be resiliently opened by exertion of hydraulic pressure, overcoming the imposed tension, from the liquid flow discharged therethrough.

Solution delivery nozzle and system with antimicrobial features

A plug-in type contact lens disinfecting apparatus includes a housing having formed therein a pair of receptacles, each having an open top portion for receiving a contact lens therewithin to be sterilized. A removable and releasable cap is provided for closing and sealing the open top portion of each of the receptacles and an electrically-energizable heater heats the receptacles to a preselected temperature for sterilizing contact lenses. An adaptor is provided for engagement with an electrical power source for delivering electrical power therefrom to the heater, and a cap guard is provided for operatively engaging the caps and the adaptor for preventing removal of the caps from the receptacles when the adaptor is engaged with said source of AC power. The apparatus may also include an arrangement for maintaining the contact lens receptacles in an upright position relative to the open tops thereof during engagement of the adaptor with an electrical power source which is oriented at either of two orientations substantially 90.degree. apart.

A tape dispenser apparatus for tape having an adhesive surface includes a first supply compartment for holding a continuous length of the tape and a second compartment for holding a plurality of individual tabs or cover members which can be successively removed from the second compartment and applied to portions of the adhesive tape surface to provide multiple, covered adhesive surface portions of the tape. The dispenser has guide structure for guiding displacement of the tape to the second compartment for the removal and adherence of the tabs or cover members. Two of the cover members can be applied to the adhesive surface in spaced sequence to form an expanse of the exposed adhesive between the covered portions so that the medial adhesive surface of the tape can be applied for example to a patient's eyelids or surgical dressings by manipulating the covered tape portions which thereby insulate the fingers of the manipulator from the adhesive tape surface, after which the cover members can be optionally removed.

Tape dispenser and method

A retaining device integrally formed of a single piece of resiliently flexible material for retaining a flattened and rolled portion of a collapsible tube in a rolled condition. The retaining device is formed with two body portions, a first portion which is attached to an end of a tube, and a second portion which acts as a shackle to retain the tube in a rolled up condition. The second portion is integrally attached to the first portion an one end thereof and is releasably engageable with the first portion at an opposite end thereof. The retaining device has a perimeter which is shaped to permit interlocking of a plurality of the retaining devices when the retaining devices are juxtaposed in alternating directions forming a tessellation in a continuous strip of resiliently flexible material.

A release clip for use with big game fishing comprises a housing and a spool carrier, with the spool carrier being rotatably mounted on the housing. The spool carrier is capable of rotation between an open and a closed position. The spool carrier has a spool disposed about it where slack fishing line is wound, and the housing has a pad disposed about it that is capable of applying a soft compression to the slack line in order to keep the line in place, and to prevent the line from tangling. The relesase clip, when in the open position, releases the slack fishing line when a fish applies sufficient tension to the line, allowing the slack line to play off of the spool. The amount of line tension required to open the release clip can be set variably by a fisherman.

Fishing release clip

A snap-fit fastener assembly including a receptacle member and a post member. The receptacle member is attachable to a first body such as a section of canvas or the like and the post member is attachable to a second body such as the side of a boat or the like. The receptacle member is a unitary single piece body integrally formed of a suitable plastic material and the post member includes an attachment portion and a head portion. Post engaging portions are integrally formed on the inside of the receptacle member for consistently, repeatably and securely engaging the post member in a snap-fit action such that the section of canvas may be retainably attached across the sides of the boat for covering the boat. A flexible arm with an upstanding protrusion is formed on the inside of the receptacle member for engaging a cooperatively formed groove formed on an underside of the head portion of the post member. A finger tab is formed on the outside of the receptacle member to facilitate engagement and disengagement of the receptacle portion to the post portion. The receptacle member is formed with a body portion and a cap portion connected by an integrally formed strap portion.

A visor adapted for use with a headset worn on a person's head having a brim portion formed to wrap around the front of said person's head providing shielding from visually adverse conditions. The brim portion is formed with rearwardly extending portions which terminate in clips used to mount the visor to the headset. The visor is integrally formed of a suitable plastic providing necessary rigidity and flexibility characteristics. The design of the clips exploit the flexibility characteristics of the plastic to removably retain the visor on the headset without any additional fasteners or adhesives. The clip is formed of two generally parallelly aligned flanges with a headband receiving gap therebetween, one flange formed with a heel portion and a gap and the other flange formed with a stabilizing flange. A portion of the headset fits into the gap and is retained in the gap by the stabilizing flange on the opposing flange.
