A squirting toy is comprised of a cylindrical housing and a piston that slides within to force water into or out of the housing via a hole therein. The housing is encased within a shell creating a water impervious volume sufficient for the toy to float in water. The shell is soft, so that the gun is not a safety hazard when left floating in a swimming pool. Handles associated with one or both actuating portions of the squirting toy are provided for gripping and operating the squirting toy more effectively.

An improvement in a toy marking device of the type in which a writing tip is carried by a housing, and an oscillating mechanism in the housing is selectively actuated to impart oscillatory motion to the writing tip, the improvement including a visible display coupled with the oscillating mechanism for oscillation in response to actuation of the oscillating mechanism, the visible display including at least one visible element coupled with the visible display such that the visible element is excited by the oscillation of the visible display into movement providing a viewable changing effect during actuation of the oscillating mechanism.

A slingshot device includes a missile and a launcher for launching the missile, the launcher including a handle adapted to be grasped by a user, an elastic strap for projecting the missile, the elastic strap having a first end connected with the handle and a second free end, a launching wedge affixed to the free end of the strap for releasably coupling the free end of the elastic strap with the missile such that upon drawing the free end back away from the handle and then releasing the free end the missile is accelerated forward and launched beyond the handle, and a somewhat flexible control tube connected to the handle for restraining any uncontrolled whipping about of the elastic strap and essentially precluding travel of the free end of the elastic strap forward beyond the handle, the control tube essentially surrounding at least a portion of the length of the elastic strap so that the elastic strap is retracted within the control tube upon launching of the projectile and is precluded from following the projectile beyond the handle.
