A picture hanger for use with gypsum board comprises a strip of steel bent into a V to provide two legs. The first leg is arcuate and functions as an anchor upon insertion into the gypsum board. The second leg is straight, with a hook at its terminus for hanging pictures and the like. An installation tool is provided which enables the arcuate anchor leg to be driven into the gypsum board along an arcuate path corresponding to the arcuate anchor leg until the second leg is held firmly against the surface of the gypsum board.

A method of coating a pre-formed trainable material, such as nitinol wire, with a heat resistant substance, heat treating, and cooling to form a desired shape. The substance can be removed by various methods after heat treatment, depending upon the composition of the substance. The method includes forming a trainable material around a mold that dissolves, vaporizes, or can otherwise be removed. The method is useful for forming complicated shapes that would be expensive or impossible to form by conventional methods.

An apparatus for releasably securing a line having a cross sectional thickness and at least one free end. The fastener has a shaft dimensioned for wrapping the line around the shaft. The shaft has a pair of ends at least one of which includes: an insertion structure extending from the end that defines an insertion opening and a retaining structure extending from the end a distance greater than the cross sectional thickness of the line. The retaining structure defines a retention aperture operably dimensioned smaller than the cross sectional thickness of the line. When the free end of the line is inserted through the opening, positioned adjacent the shaft, wrapped around the shaft and positioned in the retention aperture, the line is thereby releasably secured.

In accordance with the present invention, a system is provided for circulating fluids, both gases and liquids, in a body of liquid. The system comprises a rotatable shaft having a tubular segment immersed in the body of liquid. The tubular segment of the shaft is in fluid communication with the fluid to be circulated. Means are provided for rotating the shaft. One or more tubular arms extend radially outwardly from the tubular shaft segment, and are in fluid communication with the tubular shaft segment. Each tubular arm comprises an extension spring which, under static conditions, is substantially straight but which upon rotation of the shaft is believed to be arcuately deflected by hydrodynamic force so as to impel fluid into the body of liquid. The system may be utilized for simply circulating the liquid, or for injecting a gas into the body of liquid. The method and apparatus of the present invention are particularly useful in effecting aeration of water to maximize the concentration of dissolved oxygen therein.

A system for aligning the bit of a hand-held tool with the surface of a workpiece wherein a laser beam essentially parallel to the axis of the bit is projected forwardly toward the workpiece and onto a mirror maintained at a preselected angle to the workpiece surface. The incident beam is reflected backwardly onto means detecting both the incident beam and the reflected beam and indicating when the beams are coincident.
