Disclosed herein are techniques related to determination of adjustments to fluid delivery settings. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve accessing insulin delivery data for a user of an insulin delivery device. The insulin delivery data may be indicative of an amount of insulin delivered by the insulin delivery device to the user during a time period. The techniques may also involve analyzing the insulin delivery data to generate an updated insulin sensitivity factor (ISF) value. The techniques may further involve generating, based on the updated ISF value, a recommendation to adjust an ISF value of the insulin delivery device. Additionally, the techniques may involve causing adjustment of the ISF value to the updated ISF value in accordance with the recommendation.

Determination of adjustments to fluid delivery settings

Subject matter disclosed herein relates to a method and/or system for tailoring insulin therapies to physiological characteristics of a patient. In particular, observations of a blood glucose concentration of a patient responsive to a meal profile and an insulin profile may be used for estimating one or more physiological parameters.

Method and/or system for assessing a patient's glycemic response

Disclosed here is a computer-based device and related methodology that manages use of a dual-mode insulin infusion device. The infusion device operates in a manual insulin delivery mode or an automated closed-loop insulin delivery mode. The methodology receives closed-loop pump data for a user of the infusion device, the closed-loop pump data including data indicating basal insulin delivered by the infusion device during operation in the automated closed-loop insulin delivery mode for at least one defined period of time. The methodology analyzes the closed-loop pump data to generate updated basal rate data for the user, and generates, from the updated basal rate data, a recommendation to adjust a manual-mode basal rate setting of the infusion device. In certain scenarios, the infusion device is controlled such that the manual-mode basal rate setting is adjusted in accordance with the recommendation.

Methodology to recommend and implement adjustments to a fluid infusion device of a medication delivery system

A method of managing use of an insulin infusion device is presented here. The method identifies bolus calculator event data from glucose data for a user of the infusion device. The bolus calculator event data corresponds to use of a bolus calculator that calculates bolus dosage recommendations based on a user entered carbohydrate consumption value, a user entered current blood glucose value, a user specific carbohydrate ratio value, and a user specific insulin sensitivity value. The method filters the bolus calculator event data to remove glucose data associated with certain conditions, and analyzes the filtered data to detect an event occurrence that is indicative of potential maladjustment of the carbohydrate ratio value or the insulin sensitivity value. The method outputs a recommendation to adjust the carbohydrate ratio value or the insulin sensitivity value, based on characteristics of the detected event occurrence.

Diabetes therapy management system for recommending bolus calculator adjustments

A medical therapy system to deliver a pre-bolus volume of medicant is disclosed. The medical therapy system includes an infusion pump that has a case containing a processor, memory, a drive mechanism, a reservoir, communication hardware and a sensor system. The infusion pump further includes a global positioning system (GPS) receiver to determine GPS coordinates of the infusion pump. The GPS receiver is coupled to the processor that executes stored program instructions to provide notification for confirmation to deliver a pre-bolus volume from the reservoir when the GPS coordinates of the infusion pump are within a specified proximity of GPS coordinates of a saved location.
