A method performed by a first node in a communication network, the first node being a first end-point of signaling with a second node in the communication network, the second node being a second end-point in the signaling. The method comprises receiving signals from the second node, the received signals comprising instructions for the first node to perform a plurality of actions as well as an indication for in which order the actions should be performed. The method also comprises performing the actions in order. The method also comprises sending signals to the second node, the sent signals comprising an acknowledgement that the plurality of actions have been performed.

Method for operating a capillary network gateway

A method in a node of a communication system for selecting a message box for a machine device. The communication system comprises one or more capillary networks and a wireless network, the one or more capillary networks comprising one or more machine devices and at least two capillary network gateways. The at least two capillary network gateways are capable of data exchange between the machine device and the wireless network. The method comprises establishing, for the machine device, a first probability reflecting the probability that the machine device changes capillary network gateway between two consecutive data transmission events performed by the machine device, and selecting, based on the first probability, a message box for use by the machine device. The present disclosure relates to the capillary network gateway selection in a capillary network. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a methods and arrangements for selecting a capillary network gateway, CGW, for linking of a machine device, MD, arranged to operate in a capillary network, to a cellular network. The cellular network is arranged to operate according to a radio access technology different from the radio access technology of the capillary network, the capillary network including a plurality of CGWs, each of which CGWs being adapted to forward traffic between the capillary network and a radio base station, RBS, of the cellular network. The method comprises, for at least two CGWs of the plurality of CGWs, to gather (S) data related to cells of RBSs having a cellular radio connection to the respective CGW in the capillary network, and to control (S) selection of at least one CGW out of the at least two CGWs based on the gathered data.

The present invention relates to methods and devices for indicating Quality of Service (QoS) of a message intended for a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device in a capillary network. Thus, provided is, i.e., a method at a core network node of determining QoS of a message intended for an MTC device in a capillary network. The invention relates to selecting a capillary gateway node via which a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device is to be connected to a radio access network. The network node configured to select a capillary network gateway node for connecting an MTC device to a radio access network comprises a processing unit and a memory containing instructions executable by the processing unit. The network node is operative to obtain an indication of availability of credentials of a plurality of capillary network gateway nodes being capable of connecting the MTC device to the radio access network, and to select one of the plurality of capillary network gateway nodes via which the MTC device is to be connected to the radio access network based at least in part on the availability of credentials of the plurality of capillary network gateway nodes.

Method and nodes for selecting a capillary network gateway

The disclosure provides for acquiring information related to a DRX configuration that is preferred by a Capillary Network Gateway (CGW) for a capillary network and selecting a DRX configuration, based on the acquired information, to be applied by a Radio Access Network (RAN) node to substantially match said preferred DRX configuration. The selected DRX configuration can be signaled to the gateway such that the gateway can adapt, or configure, its DRX configuration accordingly. Also, the selected DRX configuration is applied, or otherwise utilized, by the RAN node. Systems and methods for adapting a DRX configuration for a RAN based on a preferred DRX configuration of an associated capillary network

Systems and methods for detecting a Line of Sight (LOS) in a cellular communications network are provided. In one embodiment, a network node in the cellular communications network determines whether a wireless device is within LOS of a base station. In order do so, the network node compares a Ricean factor of a wireless communications channel between the base station and the wireless device and a predetermined Ricean factor threshold for LOS detection. In addition, the network node compares a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) between a Rayleigh probability density function and samples of received signal strength for radio signals transmitted between the base station and the wireless device and a predetermined RMSE threshold for LOS detection. The network node then determines whether the wireless device is within LOS of the base station based on results of the comparisons.
