A mount assembly for a vehicle includes a housing having an upper mounting portion coupled to a first area of the vehicle and a lower mounting portion coupled to a second area of the vehicle. A dampening arrangement is disposed between the upper mounting portion and lower mounting portion. The dampening arrangement may include one or more biasing layers and one or more springs cooperating with the upper mounting portion and lower mounting portion. One or more relatively high viscoelastic layers are disposed adjacent to and cooperate with the one or more biasing layers. One or more relatively low viscoelastic layers are disposed adjacent and cooperate with the one or more relatively high viscoelastic layers. The one or more biasing layers, one or more relatively high viscoelastic layers, one or more relatively low viscoelastic layers and optional springs are configured to dissipate axial forces acting on the mount assembly.

A piston pin assembly is provided including a cylindrical pin body having a hollow interior. A mass is disposed in the hollow interior of the cylindrical pin body and a viscoelastic, plastic, or elastomeric material is disposed in the hollow interior between the mass and the cylindrical pin body. The mass and viscoelastic, plastic, and elastomeric material provides a damper for the piston and piston pin to delay the acceleration of piston lateral motion and stabilize the piston rotation and reduce the noise and friction.

The bearing having a plurality of bearing layers made of different materials unevenly distributed about a circumference and along a longitudinal axis of the bearing, the bearing layers reactively ovalizing in response to loads imparted by the non-homogeneously or homogeneously rotating components, and changing a minimum lubricating fluid thickness on a portion of the substantially cylindrical central bore that ovalizes in response to transient local loads imparted by the non-homogeneously or homogeneously loaded rotating component.

A piston with an improved bowl geometry includes a piston body having a generally planar crown and a skirt extending from the crown. An oval or multi-lobed bowl rim of a combustion bowl that is recessed in the crown so that the sides of the bowl rim are provided with increased material to resist fatigue along the pin plane, optionally along the thrust/antithrust plane and generally optionally along other planes between the pin plane and the thrust/antithrust plane.

A connecting rod for connecting between a crankshaft and a piston, includes a small end with a cylindrical hole adapted to for receiving a piston pin, a big end having a crank pin bore adapted for receiving a crank pin of a crankshaft and a stem portion extends between the small end and big end. The stem portion can have an I-beam cross-section with a pair of legs and a web extending between the pair of legs. The web includes oppositely facing surfaces defining a thickness that is less than a thickness of the pair of legs. The web includes at least one grooved/recessed portion that is recessed relative to the oppositely facing surfaces of the web.

A rotating fuel injector assembly for a vehicle engine includes a base, an internal tip, an intermediate coaxial tip, and an external coaxial tip. The internal tip may be configured to move between an extended closed position and a retracted open position relative to the base. The intermediate coaxial tip may include an opening defined in a base of the intermediate coaxial tip. The base and the opening abuts the internal tip when the internal tip is in the extended closed position. The external coaxial tip may move between an extended open position and a retracted closed position relative to the base. The external coaxial tip includes a plurality of apertures which may align with the at least one opening in the intermediate coaxial tip at a predetermined event.

A bidimensional tracer for machine tools or measuring machines is described. Said tracer comprises a body for the connection to the machine, an end arranged to come into contact with a surface, and two detector elements apt to emit signals of detection of the movements of the said end, along two orthogonal directions, produced by the contact with the said surface. The main characteristic of the tracer is that said detector elements simultaneously detect the said movements along the said two directions, the said two detector elements comprising each a portion stationary relative to the said connection body and a portion movable as a function of the movements of the said end.

A tracer unit for use with measuring machines is described. The main feature of this tracer unit is to comprise a plurality of tracer tools, each of which is provided with a rod arranged to come into contact with a surface to be scanned, a movable body connected to said rod, a fixed body, first means which supply a first signal either when said movable body leaves the position of equilibrium relative to said fixed body or when said movable body passes through a determined position relative to said fixed body, and second means arranged to indicate from which of the various tracer tools said first signal is originated.

Electronic tracer unit for measuring machines

A position transducer for machine tools and measuring machines, arranged to measure relative displacements of a first part of the machine with respect to a second part of the machine, is described. The main feature of this position transducer is to operate by means of the optical coupling of at least two photoelectric readers fixed on the first part and at least two optical photoengraved rules rigidly connected to the second part. Selector means are provided to present in output the signals from one of the photoelectric readers.
