A wideband amplifier includes an input matching network for matching a transconductor stage to an input impedance and includes an output matching network for matching the transconductor stage to an output impedance. Both the input and output matching networks each includes a parallel LC tank circuit arranged in parallel with a series LC tank circuit. The tank circuit arrangements configure the input and output matching networks to be resonant at a first frequency, a midrange frequency that is greater than the first frequency, and a second frequency that is greater than the midrange frequency to provide wideband matching.

Wideband amplifier

Methods and apparatus for performing automatic gain control (AGC) in bypass and filter modes for radio frequency (RF) front-end circuitry are described. An example method includes operating a receiver in a first mode during a first set of symbols of a first subframe. The method also includes, during a first symbol of the first subframe outside the first set of symbols, determining whether to operate the receiver in the first mode or a second mode in a second subframe, based at least in part on an output of a jamming detection circuit of the receiver in the first symbol. The method also includes controlling the receiver to operate in the first mode or the second mode in the second subframe, in accordance with the determination.

Fast automatic gain control in bypass and filter modes

A user equipment (UE) is provided that detunes a receive antenna while a transmit antenna transmits. To determine the detuning, the UE first transmits a signal through the transmit antenna while the receive antenna is sequentially coupled through known loads. At each load, the UE determines an input reflection coefficient for a transmit path to the transmit antenna. Based upon the known loads and the corresponding input reflection coefficients, the UE determines a load to couple to the receive antenna to perform the detuning.

Computation-based detuning of coupled antennas

Aspects of the disclosure relate to devices, wireless communication apparatuses, methods, and circuitry implementing a low noise amplifier (LNA) with phase-shifting circuitry to achieve a continuous phase at the output of the LNA. One aspect is an amplifier including a high gain active path comprising active circuitry, and a low gain path comprising passive circuitry and phase-shifting circuitry. In one or more aspects, the phase-shifting circuitry is configured to shift a phase of an input signal within the low gain path such that the phase of an output signal outputted from the low gain path approximately matches a phase of an output signal outputted from the high gain active path. In at least one aspect, a gain of the high gain active path is higher than a gain of the low gain passive path.

Constant-phase attenuator techniques in radio frequency front end (RFFE) amplifiers

A receiving circuit has a clock generator circuit, a synchronization circuit and a controller. The clock generator circuit is configured to generate a base clock signal with a base frequency. The synchronization circuit is configured to synchronize edges in the base clock signal with edges in a Manchester-encoded data signal received over a serial bus. The controller is configured to detect that a first pulse received from the serial bus has a duration corresponding to a pulse duration defined for a first type of sequence start condition that indicates a first type of transaction during which the Manchester-encoded data signal is received over the serial bus; configure a first timer to expire after a first timeout period; and ignore the first pulse when signaling consistent with the first type of sequence start condition has not been received before the first timer expires.

Error handling for a mixed mode RFFE bus

A data communication apparatus coupled to a serial bus has a protocol controller that configures a first plurality of subordinate devices with device identifiers unique within the first plurality of subordinate devices and configures a second plurality of subordinate devices with device identifiers unique within the second plurality of subordinate devices. A sequence start condition transmitted over the serial bus indicates either a first communication mode in which a clock signal is provided to the serial bus or a second communication mode in which no clock signal is provided. A device identifier associated with the first plurality of subordinate devices is used to transmit a first datagram over the serial bus in the first communication mode, and a device identifier associated with the second plurality of subordinate devices is used to transmit a second datagram over the serial bus in the second communication mode.

Independent addressing of one-wire and two-wire devices on a shared RFFE bus interface

A data communication apparatus comprises a line driver configured to couple the data communication apparatus to a 1-wire serial bus; and a controller configured to: transmit a plurality of synchronization pulses over the 1-wire serial bus after a sequence start condition (SSC) has been transmitted over the 1-wire serial bus, the plurality of synchronization pulses being configured to synchronize one or more receiving devices coupled to the 1-wire serial bus to an untransmitted transmit clock signal; initiate an interrupt handling procedure when the plurality of synchronization pulses is encoded with a first value; and initiate a read transaction or a write transaction with at least one of the one or more receiving devices coupled to the 1-wire serial bus when the plurality of synchronization pulses is encoded with a second value.

Interrupt management on a one-wire bidirectional bus

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a receiver including an amplifier circuit. The amplifier circuit includes a common-source amplifier having an input and an output, and a common-gate amplifier having an input and an output, wherein the input of the common-gate amplifier is coupled to the output of the common-source amplifier. The receiver also includes a first receive chain coupled to the output of the common-gate amplifier, and a second receive chain coupled to the output of the common-source amplifier.

An example method includes operating the apparatus in a first mode with transmission of a plurality of transmit signals. The method also includes attenuating a received signal via an attenuator while operating the apparatus in the first mode. The method further includes amplifying the attenuated signal with an amplifier while operating the apparatus in the first mode. For certain aspects, the method further involves operating the apparatus in a second mode, bypassing the attenuator while operating the apparatus in the second mode, and amplifying the received signal with the amplifier while operating the apparatus in the second mode.

High linearity modes in wireless receivers

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating managing multi-SIM concurrent mode for TDD co-banded or spectrum overlap carriers are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes estimating a maximum transmit power for a first subscriber based on a low-noise amplifier (LNA) input power threshold associated with an active receive chain of a second subscriber, where the UE comprises the first subscriber and the second subscriber. The example method also includes transmitting, via an active transmit chain of the first subscriber, an uplink transmission at the first subscriber maximum transmit power based on the first subscriber and the second subscriber operating concurrently, and a transmit power associated with the uplink transmission being greater than the first subscriber maximum transmit power.

Methods and apparatus to facilitate managing multi-sim concurrent mode for co-banded or spectrum overlap carriers

An aspect includes a filtering method including operating a first filter to filter a first input signal to generate a first output signal; operating a second filter to filter a second input signal to generate a second output signal; and selectively coupling at least a portion of the second filter with the first filter to filter a third input signal to generate a third output signal. Another aspect includes a filtering method including operating switching devices to configure a filter with a first set of pole(s); filtering a first input signal to generate a first output signal with the filter configured with the first set of pole(s); operating the switching devices to configure the filter with a second set of poles; and filtering a second input signal to generate a second output signal with the filter configured with the second set of poles.

Programmable baseband filter for selectively coupling with at least a portion of another filter

Techniques and apparatus are described for reducing power consumption when performing wireless communications by dynamically changing the frequency of a local oscillator signal for a radio frequency (RF) downconversion circuit, based on signal conditions. An example method includes receiving an RF signal and downconverting the RF signal using an oscillating signal with a first frequency at a first time. The method also includes switching to downconverting the RF signal using the oscillating signal with a second frequency, based on a property associated with the RF signal at a second time. The second frequency is a subharmonic of the first frequency.

Dynamic subharmonic mixing for power reduction in wireless communications

A receive clock generated at a receiver coupled to a one-wire bus is synchronized in each clock cycle, permitting reception of a data frame of unlimited length without clock overrun or underrun. A base clock signal provided by an oscillator is passed by a clock gating circuit while the clock gating circuit is enabled. A counter counts positive and negative edges in an output of the clock gating circuit. The clock gating circuit is disabled when an output of the counter indicates a preconfigured maximum count value. An edge synchronization circuit that synchronizes edges in the base clock signal with edges in a data signal received over the one-wire bus ignores edges in the data signal while the counter output has a value that is less than the maximum count value, and resets the counter in response to an edge detected in the data signal received over the one-wire bus.

Latency and power efficient clock and data recovery in a high-speed one-wire bidirectional bus

The transconductance transistor couples to a cascode transistor forming an output node for the first stage.
