A method is described for access to a directory by an application (). A function library () handles a first request from the application for fetching the information from a server. The first request is forwarded from the function library () to the server by a client module (). A request identifier () is sent from the function library to the application when the first request is forwarded to the server. A response signal () to the first request is sent from the server and received by the application. The response signal comprises a response identifier. The response identifier is checked to match the response signal () to the first request. A function from the function library is called () by the application for decoding the response signal. The decoded response signal is returned () from the function library to the application. A device and a program are also described.

Method and device for access to a directory

A method is described for engaging a first transcoder entity in a tandem free operation session with a second transcoder entity. The transcoder entities control the tandem free operation session and the insertion of transcoders into the session. They also perform a synchronization procedure of the first transcoder entity and the second transcoder entity and send tandem free operation frames. The tandem free operation frames are sent from the first transcoder entity to the second transcoder entity during execution of the synchronization procedure. A transcoder entity and a program embodying the invention is also described.

Method and transcoder entity for tandem free operation in a telecommunication network

Systems and methods are provided for reducing signal distortion during tandem free operation signal transmission from a first mobile station to a second mobile station over a network; the systems and methods reduce the signal distortion in tandem free operation mobile to mobile communications that occurs when there is a loss of synchronicity between a plurality of transcoder rate adapter units that is caused by oscillation of the transcoder rate adapter units between different functional states during signal transmission. The systems and methods of the invention reduce the time gaps that are associated with these oscillations, resulting in reduced signal distortion and improved signal transmission.
