A cloud-based computer system for diagnosis of conditions to counteract adverse anatomical or medical effects of unnatural supination of subtalar joints by elevated shoe heels. The system includes smartphones or other mobile computer devices located proximate to a center of gravity of users during locomotion, sensor(s) located in a sole or removable sole insert of footwear of the users; sensor(s) located in the smartphones or mobile computer devices; a connection between the sensors and the smartphones or mobile computer devices to provide data between the sensors and the smartphones or mobile computer devices; and a connection between the smartphones or mobile computer devices and the cloud-based computer system to provide data between the smartphones or mobile computer devices and the cloud-based computer system. The sensors located in the soles or removable sole inserts of the footwear and the smartphones or mobile computer devices include a gyroscope and an accelerometer.

A sensor-equipped smartphone configured for connection to its user's footwear soles with sensors and structures configurable by the smartphone and for connection to a big data artificial intelligence computer system connected to other smartphones controlling their users' configurable footwear soles. The smartphone is connected to sensors located on the smartphone users' body, including proximate to its center of gravity and/or on the head. The computer system is configured to use the big data techniques of machine learning in a database compiled from thousands or millions of other smartphones connected to one or more sensors associated with footwear users to perform operations on billions of data sets from these other smartphones. The correlations found from the big data operations provide solutions to medical problems of the footwear users involving their body structure and/or function. The solutions are implemented by the smartphone configuring the users' footwear soles, including active configuration during locomotion.

A method of making a device by a three-dimensional (3D) printing process, the method comprising a step of excluding, during the 3D printing process, the printing in one or more defined areas of one or more layers of the device in order to form at least one internal sipe in said device, the sipe being defined by two opposing surfaces that are configured to contact one another and slide against each other when said device is in a loaded condition, as viewed in a single plane cross-section; or wherein during the 3D printing process the internal sipe is formed by the exclusion of one or more print particles (3D dots) in many layers of the device, as viewed in a single plane cross-section.

A big data artificial intelligence computer system is used for medical care connecting to sensor-equipped smartphones of users of footwear. The footwear has smartphone-connected soles with sensors and configurable structures. The smartphone is also connected to sensors located on the users' body, including proximate to its center of gravity and/or on the head. The web and/or cloud-based computer system is configured to use the big data techniques of machine learning in a database compiled from millions of smartphones to perform operations on billions of data sets from the smartphones of the footwear users. The solutions are implemented by configuring the users' footwear soles, including active configuration, including during running and/or walking to optimize corrections to the structure and/or function of their bodies.

A smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized, wherein the smartphone device is configured to actively control the configuration of one or more bladders, compartments, chambers or internal sipes and one or more sensors located in either one or both of a sole or a removable inner sole insert of the footwear of the user and/or located in an apparatus worn or carried by the user, glued unto the user, or implanted in the user. The one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, or sipes, and one or more sensors are configured for computer control. A sole and/or a removable inner sole insert for footwear, including one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, internal sipes and sensors in the sole and/or in a removable insert; or on an insole; all being configured for control by a smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized.
