Handle for a door controller

The invention is directed to an electric swing plug door operator with a remotely powered auxiliary lock mechanism, door striker, catch and manual release system for use on light to medium duty shuttle or utility vehicles. The swing plug door system includes a door operator and base plate assembly, a shaft and arm assembly, a guide rod assembly, a lower shaft pivot, a door panel with a leading edge catch and lock striker assembly, an auxiliary lock and a manual release cable. The auxiliary lock assembly includes a lock bar engaging the lock striker mounted to the trailing edge of the door panel when the door reaches the fully closed position. The door operator includes a manual release lever and gear motor subassembly to drive the door system linkage and to manually disengage the door linkage and lock assembly to gain manual egress from the vehicle.

Electric swing plug door operator with auxiliary door locking mechanism

A sealing arrangement for a door of a transit vehicle with an angularly disposed floor portion incorporates a rotatably disposed driving member in combination with a driven member attached to the sealing arrangement to enable vertical movement thereof for providing a weather seal when the door is closed and accommodating the angularly disposed floor portion when the door is open and the door is disposed within the transit vehicle and above the floor portion. An inner and outer cover may be provided at the bottom edge of the door for esthetic purposes.

Sealing arrangement for a transit vehicle

The present invention is a cartridge bridge plate assembly for mounting under a floor structure of a transit vehicle adjacent a door opening. It has a frame assembly and means for attaching the frame assembly underneath the floor structure of the vehicle. It has a bridge plate for covering a gap between the floor of the vehicle and an adjacent surface to facilitate passenger ingress and egress when the vehicle is stopped. It has a bridge plate positioning means for positioning the bridge plate and accommodating motion of the bridge plate from a stowed position within the frame assembly to an extended position for covering the gap. A motor is connected to the bridge plate positioning means for moving the bridge plate from the stowed position to the extended position and from the extended position to the stowed position. The system includes a power connection to the motor, and a drive screw connected to and rotated by the motor. It has a drive nut engaging the drive screw to be translated thereby, the drive nut having mechanical connection to the bridge plate positioning means to move the bridge plate from the stowed position to the extended position and from the extended position to the stowed position. The system also has an elevating means connected to the bridge plate positioning means for elevating an inner edge of the bridge plate to match an elevation of the floor surface of the transit vehicle.

Single screw bridgeplate

A door lock for locking a sliding door on a transit vehicle. The lock has a base for attachment to the transit vehicle and a lock cam having a slot for engaging a door lock element attached to the door. A pivot is connected to the base and to the lock cam to provide a rotary connection of the lock cam to the base. A lock actuator is attached to the base. The lock actuator includes a moveable actuator portion for engaging the lock cam to prevent rotation of the lock cam to lock the door. The actuator also has an energized actuator portion for withdrawing the moveable actuator portion from engagement with the lock cam to release the lock cam and unlock the door. The energized actuator portion is connectable with a control system for the transit vehicle door. The lock also has a manual release mounted to engage the moveable actuator portion to move it from engagement with the lock cam to release the lock cam and hence unlock the door. A sprag engaged with the manual release prevents locking of the door after the manual release has been used.

Lock assembly

A power operated retractable floor extension, extending outward from the floor of a mass transit vehicle. When extended, the floor portion bridges any gap between the vehicle floor and adjacent platform, thereby providing improved passenger access to the vehicle. Generally speaking, the extended member complies with existing United States Federal Regulations.

Bridge plate for a mass transit vehicle

A power door operator for multi-passenger mass transit vehicles, typically buses, features electric actuation of dual swinging doors. A manual activator having an ergonometrically correct actuating plunger, for emergency door opening, operates a sleeved clutch. Fixed to the sleeve clutch is a drive bar with arms having individually adjustable lengths. The drive arms actuate outboard door shaft levers on individual door leaf through door drive rods intermediate the door arms and drive arms. Each rod incorporates spherical rod ends. The drive arms also actuate limit switches establishing door opened and door closed circuitry for energizing the electric drive system. The adjustable length clutch door drive arms provide a convenient device for controlling door leaf closing sequence and residual or door holding force when the doors are in a closed position.
