A beverage dispensing valve primarily for post-mix has a valve body that will accept all known types of beverage flow controls, water and syrup valves that are interchangeable in either of two fluid ports, a reversible block between the valves and a nozzle that enables syrup to be used in either port and water to be used in either port, a positively sealing and easily removable nozzle for improved sanitation and mixing, and multiple fulcrums in the valve body that will respectively accept a manual actuator or a switch actuator and a solenoid driven actuator. A receiver on the valve body accepts a single solenoid for both valves and an electronic dispensing control which is restrained in place by a removable cover, a finger pad in the valve actuator provides manual override for electrical component failure, an alternate actuator opens the water valve only regardless of which side the water valve is in and regardless of whether the dispensing valve is manual or electric, the water and syrup valves are pallet type valves positioned horizontally and the valve actuator goes over the top of the valves to reach forward located valve anvils and reduce the size of the dispensing valve, and a manifold and latch mechanism provide either quick disconnect or manually disconnectable mounting of the valve body.

A beverage dispensing valve for pre-mix carbonated beverage has a pressure balancing structure for enabling easy opening of the valve and an improved drive mechanism providing a relatively higher force for opening the valve; the balancing structure has a balance piston on a nose of a normally closed poppet valve, the piston is on a floppy mount and is sealed to a balance cylinder in the pressurized beverage line forming a balance chamber upstream of the piston, the chamber is vented to atmosphere to relieve beverage pressure on most of the area of the poppet valve to reduce the opening force required; the drive mechanism includes an electric solenoid having an elastic tension spring in the solenoid plunger, the spring elastically connects the plunger to the poppet valve to generate an improved and greater force. A dispensing system has several of these valves with a single low power transformer for all of the valves. A method of dispensing pre-mix carbonated beverage has the new steps of balancing the beverage pressure upon the upstream side of a poppet valve so that it is relatively easy to open the valve, and elastically applying an opening force upon the poppet valve to pop it open when the elastic force exceeds the required opening force.

An improved mixing nozzle for a post-mix beverage dispenser having a water supply chamber co-axially surrounding a syrup supply port, has an elongate syrup diffuser having a spray head on its lower end, an upper water distribution disc on the diffuser having a plurality of apertures having a cumulative opening area for passage of water, a convex frusto-conical water spreader is directly below the upper disc, a lower water distribution disc is spaced below the upper disc and the spreader, the lower disc has a plurality of apertures and a clearance between itself and a nozzle spout, the cumulative area of the lower disc apertures and spout clearance is several times the area of the upper disc apertures, an enlarged water plenum is between the spreader and the lower disc, and the syrup diffuser has outlets to spray syrup into a water stream below the lower disc.

A nozzle assembly has a body with an axially closed end, and a radially apertured cup-like discharge chamber on the outside of the closed end, and a nozzle cap carried on the outside of the body, and having an annular seat surrounding its discharge opening, the seat being engageable with the body around the discharge chamber. The assembly is adapted to be non-threadedly secured to a source of liquid pressure, there being an extension which can be disposed between such source of liquid pressure and the body. The spray nozzle and spray nozzle extension are adapted to be connected to the discharge of a pump by which the pump is converted into a sprayer.

A food mold is disclosed which has a flexible sanitary liner and a rigid holder for the liner, the liner has a rim for securement to the holder and a cup shaped portion for forming food to a predetermined shape, the cup is flexibly and resiliently movable for discharge of food from the mold when the mold is turned upside down; the holder may include a finger actuatable valve for control of flow of air into a space between the liner and holder, for control of movement of the cup and release of the molded food product, and the liner may have a weight attached to the cup for automatically retracting the cup when the mold is turned from an inverted emptying to a normal upright filling position.
