Systems and methods for collecting data from electric vehicles, and performing various different actions based on the collected data, are described. In some embodiments, a device, such as a remote device that communicates with a server, connects with a controller area network (CAN) of an electric vehicle, and collects data from the CAN and/or other types of data associated with the electric vehicle (e.g., geographical information that identifies a location of an electric vehicle, movement information that identifies whether the electric vehicle is in motion or not, and so on). The systems and methods may perform various actions using some or all of the collected data.

In some embodiments, a docking station includes a scooter locking section that allows the electric scooter to be removed from the docking station when the electric scooter is in a non-rotated orientation and prevents the electric scooter to be removed from the docking station when the electric scooter is in a rotated orientation.

Systems and methods for performing actions in response to charging events, such as charging events associated with a specific electric vehicle and/or a specific charging station, are described. A grid to vehicle system is described. In some examples, the system selectively controls one or more electric vehicles connected to an electric grid based on conditions associated with the electric grid. For example, the system may control charging operations of the electric vehicles based on load balancing conditions associated with the electric grid, based on cost conditions associated with electric power provided by the electric grid, and so on.

In some embodiments, the systems and methods receive a request to find an available charging station, determine a state of charge for an electric vehicle associated with the request, identifies one or more available charging stations located within a suitable distance to the electric vehicle, the suitable distance based on the determined state of the charge for the electric vehicle, and present information to the electric vehicle, or an associated mobile device, that indicates the identified charging stations.

Systems and methods for collecting electric scooters are described herein. In some embodiments, the systems and methods facilitate a 'snaking' configuration of attaching, coupling, or fixing multiple electric scooters to one another. The snaking configuration enables multiple electric scooters to be collected together and moved to various locations, such as locations where the electric scooters can be rented, serviced, and so on. Further, the systems and methods enable any electric scooter to act as a collecting scooter, and thus a scooter share service or other fleet of scooters can manage the collection and provisioning of scooters in a location without special vehicles or equipment, among other benefits.

Various electric scooter docking stations are described herein. In some embodiments, the electric scooter docking stations facilitate collection, movement, and/or storage of the electric scooters in a compact, elegant, and efficient configuration. For example, the electric scooter docking stations can be configured to take advantage of a unique shape of an electric scooter, providing the storage and positioning of many electric scooters in a compact area. Also, the electric scooter docking stations can be simple structures that facilitate self-powered movement of electric scooters within the electric scooter docking stations.

In some embodiments, the system and method may access a request to charge an electric vehicle at a specific charging station, identify a charging network (e.g., one of multiple, disparate charging networks) associated with the specific charging station, and automatically provide payment information to the charging network via a payment protocol associated with the charging network. The charging interface system, therefore, may facilitate access to any charging network and/or charging station by providing an interface between a driver of an electric vehicle and one of many charging networks.
