An artificial-reality system comprising (1) a wearable dimensioned to be donned on a body part of a user, wherein the wearable comprises (A) a set of electrodes that detect one or more neuromuscular signals via the body part of the user and (B) a transmitter that transmits an electromagnetic signal, (2) a head-mounted display communicatively coupled to the wearable, wherein the head-mounted display comprises a set of receivers that receive the electromagnetic signal, and (3) one or more processing devices that (1) determine, based at least in part on the neuromuscular signals, that the user has made a specific gesture and (2) determine, based at least in part on the electromagnetic signal, a position of the body part of the user when the user made the specific gesture. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.

Apparatus, system, and method for detecting user input via hand gestures and arm movements

A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader outputs an interrogation signal, and hops/varies the phase of the interrogation signal sent by the RFID reader over time. Varying the phase of the interrogation signal enables the RFID reader to provide, for each zone of an RF field of the RFID reader, a particular phase that reduces of the effects of interference RF signal(s) present in that zone of the RF field. Reducing the interference in each zone of the RF field increases the throughput of RFID tags that can be successfully read by the RFID reader.

A multi-band and/or multi-protocol, configurable, RFID tag is provided. The tag can include one or more electrical or mechanical selectors for selecting from among multiple frequency bands and communication protocols. In some embodiments, a signal band and protocol can be detected automatically and selection among bands and protocols can be performed automatically. In some embodiments, one or more externally accessibly switches can be actuated by a user to select a band and/or protocol.

One type of device may be a wireless communications data-reader device configured for both near-field and far-field communications. An adjustable reflector system for fixed dipole antenna comprising of reflector and several supporting devices is described. The beam direction of the antenna can be changed by rotating the reflector about the Y-axis and/or adjusting the reflector about X axis and Z-axis. A zero loss bias &ldquo;T&rdquo; is provided for use in an RF receiver front end in order to bias a received RF signal with a DC current. The zero loss bias &ldquo;T&rdquo; permits a DC current to be introduced into an RF signal path of a filter having filter characteristics sufficient to pass frequencies only in a desired passband without associated losses to the RF signal. The filter may be provided by an LC filter having a ground coupling point. DC current is coupled to the RF signal path of the filter via the ground coupling point.
