The present invention relates to air freshener devices that have water-based liquid compositions, preferably clear liquids, for providing an improved rate of emanation of perfume ingredients from the air freshener emanating surface and allowing the use of fragrance materials with a wide range of characteristics, namely a wide range of clogP values. The present invention provides compositions and clear oil-in-water microemulsion containing up to 80% w/w of an oil, a surfactant system, a w/w oil/surfactant system ratio between 1 and 3, and a solubilizing-aid ingredient which is not a surfactant neither a VOC compound, the latter being present in an amount sufficient to ensure that the ratio oil/(surfactant+solubilizing aid) is comprised between 0.1 and 5. Solubilizing systems for flavors and fragrances

The invention relates to a granular delivery system based on a matrix combining at least a carbohydrate material with from 1 to 7% of prehydrated agar agar. The composition of the invention provides advantageous behavior in an aqueous environment wherein the mobility of the active agent is restricted in the gelled carrier, thus preventing the release of the agent unless shear of heat are applied. Another feature of the invention is a process for the preparation the spray-dried composition.
