In a method for determining the elongation of segments of a chain of a chain drive during operation, a plurality of measured values is determined at different positions of the chain. A plurality of length values is determined from the plurality of measured values and a position of the segments of the chain is determined. The length values are assigned to the segments of the chain, with the length of the segments of the chain being smaller than the length of the chain.

Apparatus and method for determining the wear condition of a chain

In a method for determining the elongation of segments of a chain of a chain drive during operation, a plurality of measured values is determined at different positions of the chain. A plurality of length values is determined from the plurality of measured values and the length values are assigned to the segments of the chain, with the length of the segments of the chain being smaller than the length of the chain.

An actuator includes first and second structural units arranged independently of one another. An engagement means is arranged in the first structural unit. A drive motor is in driving relationship to the engagement means and arranged in the first structural unit. An anti-backbend chain is in engagement with the engagement means, and a chain depot is arranged in the second structural unit.

A chain sensor includes a first magnetic circuit, a device for measuring the magnetic flux density in the first magnetic circuit, and a coil. The magnetic circuit is substantially formed by a magnetically conductive yoke body. The yoke body has a lateral leg, the end of which is disposable in the proximity of a chain. The device for measuring the magnetic flux density is connected to an analysis unit. To determine the elongation of the chain during operation, a partially closed magnetic circuit is formed, a voltage is applied to a coil disposed in the magnetic circuit, an alternating magnetic flux density is generated in the magnetic circuit by the movement of the chain through the partially closed magnetic circuit, the alternating magnetic flux density in the magnetic circuit is detected as a plurality of measured values, and a length value of the chain from the measured values is determined.

Device and method for determining the wear state of a chain

A chain sensor comprising at least one coil and a device for measuring the chain elongation comprising two chain sensors and a control unit, are provided. In addition, a method of measuring the chain elongation of a chain with two chain sensors arranged along the chain in spaced relationship with one another is provided. The chain sensor comprises at least one first reluctance sensor. The first reluctance sensor has a magnetically conductive yoke body comprising a central leg and two yoke legs extending laterally thereto. The yoke legs are each provided with at least two teeth, the teeth of the yoke legs being adapted to be arranged in closely spaced relationship with a chain. The first reluctance sensor includes at least one permanent magnet.

A conveyor chain, in particular a can conveyor chain, comprises chain links, which are interconnected by a respective chain hinge, and laterally projecting transport bars, which have a damping head made of a plastic material and provided for contact with the articles to be conveyed, the damping head comprising a fastening portion, a spring section arranged on said fastening portion and a contact portion connected to the spring section and adapted to contact the articles to be conveyed. A conveyor chain is provided of this type with a simpler and less failure-prone structural design. To this end, the damping head is provided with a front-side cavity of such a nature that the spring section has an elastically deformable wall portion whose wall thickness narrows, at least sectionwise, towards the contact portion, at least said spring section being made of an elastomer having a maximum shore hardness of A90.
