Stent scaffolds comprising branched biocompatible polymers are disclosed.

An implantable medical device is disclosed having a helical construct including a set of spiral coils for local in vivo application of a therapeutic substance in a biological lumen. The helical construct is configured to apply less than 0.75 Bar of pressure to the biological lumen wall. The helical construct can have at least two sets of spiral coils having opposing helical directions. The device can be used for the treatment of vascular disorders such as restenosis and vulnerable plaque.

Drug delivery spiral coil construct

A method that includes introducing a catheter assembly to an obstructed region of a blood vessel lumen and recanalizing the obstructed region with the catheter assembly is disclosed. Prior to or during recanalization, a treatment agent may be delivered through the catheter assembly to a vessel region downstream to the obstructed region. The treatment agent may have a property that will inhibit reperfusion injury. Alternatively, a medical device may be introduced to an obstructed region of a blood vessel lumen and the obstructed region recanalized with the medical device. The treatment agent may be delivered to a vessel region downstream to the obstructed region. The treatment agent may include at least one of an immunosuppresant and an antioxidant. In other methods, a delivery cannula may be introduced to an unperfused region of an occluded vessel without disrupting the occlusion and the treatment agent having a property that will inhibit reperfusion injury may be delivered to the unperfused region through the delivery cannula. After delivering the treatment agent, the occluded vessel may be recanalized by advancing an angioplasty device into the occluded vessel.

Methods for inhibiting reperfusion injury

A method is provided including introducing a delivery device through a vessel wall to a treatment site within one of a peri-adventitial space or a pericardium adjacent a coronary blood vessel and delivering a treatment agent through the delivery device. Controlled disintegrating implantable medical devices

Pro-healing agent formulation compositions, methods and treatments for enhancing vascular healing are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a pro-healing agent is encapsulated, suspended, disposed within or loaded into a biodegradable carrier for sustained-release delivery to a denuded or damaged endothelium treatment area in a blood vessel. In some applications, the pro-healing agent can accelerate re-endothelialization of a denuded vascular region. In some applications, the pro-healing agent can assist in the regaining of endothelium functionality. The formulation can be delivered by a delivery assembly such as an infusion catheter, a porous balloon catheter, a needle injection catheter, a double balloon catheter or the like.

The methods comprise fixing the morphology or phase distribution of the active agent prior to removing solvent from the coating composition.
